  1. When you are on the road, and whenever you get the oppiturnity, what are your favorate places to eat out? Any place(s) you would highly recommened?
  2. I'd be suprised if they do make it to the playoffs this year. I am expecting however, that this Royals team should finish at or above .500 this season. Anything else is a bonus.
  3. I don't know. Isn't Kauffman's renovation almost a total gut rehab that will end up costing more than Busch Stadium III? EDIT: almost. Kauffman's renovations will cost around $265 million while a whole new cheaply built Busch stadium cost around $300 million. My guess is that after a couple of years the Red Sox will get a bad case of stadium envy and build a new place. And Kauffman doesn't even have a softball field next door. Oh yes it does. Unless you're saying they play softball at Arrowhead, then no. It's not a softball park, per-se. It's technically what's called "Little K" for kids, which is located at Left Center field.
  4. I don't think Plax is stupid, misguided, but not stupid. With that said, if the Patriots can get Randy Moss to toe the line in New England, the Bears could have a chance with Plax. Besides all the Bears would need Plax for is about 2 yrs. This way both Hester, Bennett, and Olsen can developed as playmakers without having to carry the offense. After two yr, this should further enough along that the training wheels can come off. By no means, I am calling Plax stupid. Just making dumb decisions. I mean, literally, how the hell can you shoot yourself through your leg? Either way, the question is, is Chicago willing to shell out a money to a very talented guy, yet, may hinder the team's progress towards a common goal? And on top of that, he may have to sit out at least 4 games because of his actions that occured last season. Still, it's a intruging though. Personally though, I'd see how Holt could do, although he is a injury risk. Not sure what Oucho Cinco would cost. Marvin Harrison (last I checked) is still available, IIRC, but may or may not have legal issues as well, on top of that, his declining health.
  5. You know, if Plax wasn't dumb as a rock, I'd take a flyer on him for a year. But his "actions" really scares alot of teams, I would imagine. But if Plax was signed as a Bear, the NFC N is almost all Chicago's to lose. Even that, w/o Plax, it's still all Chicago. I don't think any other teams in the NFC N actually improved, if at all.
  6. For a one year deal, I would. For a multi-year, I wouldn't.
  7. Sounds like the Bears gave up alot for Cutler. At least you got a QB, but as a Chief fan, he's a good QB. However, if he gets really cocky and starts shooting his mouth, then he'll start tossing INT's all over the place. Of course, Chris Williams was the most highly regarded pass blocking LT in the entire draft last year. He didn't get to play last year b/c of neck surgery in the PS. He's so much more talented than Tait, it's not funny. Kreutz is a perennial PB center, they just signed Kevin Shaffer to hold down the right side, Garza is a good guard, Matt Forte is already a great running back, Hester is your deep threat, and Greg Olsen is a very talented TE. IMHO, the Bears is a #1 WR away from being absolutely lethal.
  8. I don't know if I really like this move. Yeah, he had a nice season with a 3.41 ERA, but given his poor command indicators (37 walks in 68.2 innings) he should had an ERA of 3.80. Marmol, on the other hand, would strike out more than one batter per inning, and he'd be almost closer to sub 3.00 ERA than Gregg will be, IMHO.
  9. He's basically a younger version of Neifi Perez with a better defensive abilities, but still can't hit for *Bleep*, just like Neifi. You'd be better off finding someone else.
  10. Congrats Mizzou. You made this Big 8/Big 12 guy here proud.
  11. http://www.realgmbaseball.com/src_wiretap_archives/14014/20090317/royals_sign_ponson_to_minor_league_deal/
  12. I don't really see a problem, as I see this that gives Fontenot a chance to get on base for Soto to drive him home.
  13. Wonder if there is a shrug smiley on there. Something maybe like this? http://www.homeofthechiefs.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/shrug.gif
  14. You know, I really can't think of any teams that really deserves the number one seed. It just seems like, it won't matter because the number one seeding team isn't as strong it used to be, I guess.
  15. Makes sense. I was just curious to see if they would show some improvement from 08 results to 09 projected results on Gordon and Butler?
  16. I would have to respectfully disagree on the KU being a #3 team. They're probably at best, a 4th or 5th seeded team. The loss to Baylor pretty much ruined their chances of securing a 2nd to 3rd seed.
  17. Oh, and FWIW, I had a feeling the way Baylor was playing yesterday, that they could potentionally upset KU. If Baylor plays like that (which they should had been capable of) they could have easily contend for a NCAA Tourny Dance. If they win out, then they're are in.
  18. I'm afraid that the loss today by K-State pretty much sealed them out of the NCAA Tourny.
  19. Yeah, Smith just pissed away millions and millions of dollars away with that bombed out performance....
  20. I'd be curious to see what PECOTA's responses are towards the 2009 Royals....
  21. Not sure if it was brought up or not, but here goes. Dempster not playing WBC
  22. It really doesn't bother you? Not only was Snyder fielding awful teams by the end of his tenure, but he's about 70 years old and hasn't coached in 4 years. Furthermore, how is he going to recruit any talent there knowing that he's just a placeholder coach? With all the JUCO's they have leaving after next year they might have a 30 man roster in 2010. Well, last time I checked, Joe Pa is 81, and I don't see any signs of him slowing down. Sure he had a few bad teams thrown in the mix, but Penn State is doing well. Age is just a number, and as long you're doing the job, I could care less if you're 105 years old. Also, I'd be careful if I were a KU or a MU fan, considering that Snyder's team has completely owned those two schools during his first time around. Really, it's going to depend on who Bill is going to get his assistants. One way or another, it has to be an improvement over Ron Prince's coaching staff, as they were all just awful.
