  1. tech has a bad non-conference schedule by choice, not because they can't find anyone to play against. though i will say that most teams play at most one tough non-conference game and then a bunch of jokes, so tech is really only missing out on one real contest when compared to the rest of the big xii teams. OU played TCU, so I'll give OU credit for that. Texas didn't play anybody, except Arkansas, who isn't a solid team, but still worlds better than say, Massachusetts. OSU played Troy or Houston, and both of them are "average" IMHO. Still though, Tech played well aganist Texas, and dismantled a very solid OSU team. Their bad game was probably aganist Nebraska where they gave up 31 points.

Well, they were origionally supposed to play Tulsa, but Tulsa backed out of the deal. And FWIW, Tulsa is 8-1 this year, with their first ever loss to Arkansas.
  3. Leach, Peterson, Mendenhall, Kelly, Beamer, Richt, Spurrier, etc. Leach? Hell no. Leach is a gimmick team. They're this years USF (ie not #2 but ranked #2). Chris Peterson at Boise State? What? BYUs Mendenhall? C'mon they need to play in a real league first. Kelly no. Beamer, eh.... I don't think so. Spurrier, ten years ago yes now not so much. Richt? Maybe. I disagree. Leach is one of only sixteen active college football coaches who have never had a losing season. That speaks volumes, especially how tough the Big XII south is. one would think a gimmick coach or a gimmick team would stop winning in their conference since they're playing the same teams year after year, and the other teams would adjust to facing an unorthodox style. they've gotten better, not worse, against the good teams in the big xii. Keep in mind that TT's defense during the early years in the Leach era was awful. TT would have to keep scoring so many points to off-set their defense shortcomings. I thought TT's D could be a weakness this year, but much to my suprise, they have shown major improvements. Holding OSU to 20 points? That's impressive. In the past, they would have easily given up 30 points to pretty much anybody (OSU scored 41 last year, Colorado scored 31 last year, Texas scored 59 last year) etc.
  4. Well, it's not TT's fault that they have to play 4 crappy non-conference teams, as most power teams don't tend to schedule aganist each other in out of fear that it will hurt their rankings and all that stuff. Besides, the Big XII is tough enough that it will off-set the non-conference schedule, especially the Big XII south, where they have 4 teams in the top 10 anyways, except OSU will drop out of the top 10.

  6. But let's not forget their defense. During the early years in the Leach era, their defense was horrible. It was practically a shootout every time, as they realize that their defense wasn't gonna stop anybody. They have shown tremendous improvement on that side of the field as well.
  7. Gosh, I stronly believe that Tech is going to shred that OU _efense. I really do....
  8. I just noticed the entire front row has their faces painted like The Joker. That's a bit freaky. IIRC, almost that section did.
  9. Not sure if this was posted, but if so, oh well. Enjoy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/SwedeCarlson/2wnwdhv.gif
  10. Personally, I would have rather this team go to L.A. with a 2-0 lead in the series than 1-1.
  11. Yes, Lou sure is up there in the batters box, swinging at balls that are way out of the strike zone, and Lou is also at the mound, walking people.
  12. Somebody needs to tell Soriano to stop swining at pitches that are way out of the strike zone.....
  13. Or maybe the Cubs need to stop walking people, and start hitting the ball in play, instead of swinging at crap pitches.
  14. What's funny is that there was a guy named "Moran" on the roster.
  15. Too bad it won't be free.
  16. Would like for someone to ask Lou straight up on why Howry deserves a spot? I'm just only looking for an honest answer here, especially when it has been established that he's not worthy of that final spot.
  17. Lou was suppose to meet with Hendry this morning to finalize the roster. Nothing new has come out since. At least not that I've seen. That makes sense. I do wonder what's the deadline for all teams to submit their rosters to MLB....
  18. Is there any reports that the Cubs have finalized their playoff roster for the upcoming playoffs? I have looked around, and I haven't had much luck, so some assistance would be nice. I know there's the "unofficial" bullpen thread, but I wasn't sure if that also includes the roster. If it hasn't been announced, then my apologies.
  19. I expect the Cubs to be 2-0 by the time they go out to LA. If they get 1-1, then I'll be somewhat nervous....
  20. Dempster is not rightfully the right choice for game 1. It should be the best pitcher on the team. No, it makes sense to have Dempster as game one, as several people have pointed out that Dempster can give you 7 innings and at least 2-3 ER's, since Harden could only go for 5 or 6 innings and Zambrano, well, depending on which Zambrano shows up. But as Dempster going 7 innings, and only having to use Marmol and Wood for the 8th and 9th, and the pen will still be fresh for game 2, plus the off day as well where the pen will be back in full strength in game 4, if needed. As I've pointed out, Dempster has average ~6 1/3 innings per start this season, and Harden has average ~6 innings per start. I wasn't talking about Zambrano, he should be slotted 3rd. Even that, I still think Dempster will have a better chance of giving you 7 innings than Harden would, IMHO. As for Zambrano, I agree that he should be slotted 3rd.
  21. I guess I been out of the loop here, but I take it that Guzman haven't shown anything to have him on the playoff roster?

  23. I like this quote from Lou.
  24. I guess it wouldn't hurt to send a letter or e-mail the MLB Office to inform them that the hours are not a greatest idea. Not just becuase we're Cubs fans, but any person would know that their ratings would suck during the day games, because everybody is practically working.
  25. Oh no..... I don't like this at all.....
