    Can you judge him by one stat only without knowing what his coaches are asking him to work on? I completely agree that plate discipline is important, but I also know that players in the minors are often asked to work on a specific aspect of their game. And that working on that aspect can impact their stats. If his coaches have told him his number one goal is to improve plate discipline then his BB/K is disappointing. But if he's working on something else and his coaches think he's making progress on whatever that may be, then I have to trust them.

    Now think about it, is that how Derrek would want you to react? What if Aramis or Jerome feels the same way? I'm pretty sure he'd say that no individual is bigger than the team, that we've all got a job to do but no one's job is to sit around and feel sorry for Derrek Lee.

    Amazing how you joined after the 2005 regular season, and have gotten 4376 posts until now... Especially in the off-season! I've been here a season and a half and I only have around 5,500. I've been here for almost 2 years, read the site every day, and only have 155 posts now. :D Some of us emphasize quality over quantity - at least that's what I tell myself.

    I know if you are close to a player this isn't a joking matter, but with the smiley included in the "on the juice" post I'm pretty sure it was not meant seriously. I haven't seen Micah this year, but if he looks like I've seen him in the past he's a pretty lanky guy. I got to meet his wife at a game a couple years ago and I don't think she'd put up with any of that. :)

    Who have the Mavericks overpaid for to help the team? They let Nash go so they could sign Dampier. Nash goes on to become league MVP for Phoenix and Dampier isn't even in the starting lineup. Where Cuban has spent money is on the coaching side, where you can make an impact spending hundreds of thousands instead of millions, and especially in mining statistical data and working with a coach who would enthusiastically use that data. Who knows, some of our stat-minded posters on NSBB might be welcomed into the organization. That's why I would be excited about Cuban potentially getting involved.

    Did you notice he decided not to overpay for Steve Nash? I think Cuban's a good owner, but he's a good businessman first.
