    please win. i missed all three games vs astros and am kind of upset that they seemed to be doing as well as they have. actually, i stopped in the billy goat on sunday to ask directions to somewhere to buy cigarettes, saw the cubs down 5-0 in the second and kind of thought it was over. this is exciting stuff.

    weird. maybe the ump felt like fighting and knew who to go after... but seriously, it looks playful - there is no malice in the umpire's throw. still weird though.

    you have to be realistic about the catcher situation, though. if hendry is willing to trade one of the best offensive catchers in all of baseball for a defensive catcher, then why would he turn around and call soto up, while sending one of bowen/hill back down? obviously hendry is wrong here, but that notwithstanding i don't understand why he would make that move.
