  1. yeah, dolt is about as close as anything to describe him
  2. 72/314 43 19 16 47 2 1 13 .289 .443 versus 51/179 25 6 4 31 0 0 3 .354 .385 HUH? i like dye. a lot. he has been a major contributor on winning teams in the past, and while i know that means little to most here, if it comes down to a player that has or has not won multiple world series', i go with experience. He's certainly no Derek Jeter. Dye only has one ring, from 2005. Come think of it, Floyd also has one ring, from 1997. Like I said, it's a wash, and Dye's not worth a good prospect for a half-season rental. dye was, iirc, with atlanta when they were winners (jerome walton was on the '96 braves, lol, which lost to new york 4-2), was with oakland during their playoff runs, and obviously with the white sox in 05 as you mentioned. and Dye is not going to be a substitution. i would imagine a platoon. Dye vs Lefties this year: .261/.337/.500 Floyd vs Lefties ty: .278/.350/.333 (only 18 ab's, and the slg is worse than his obp...) Dye vs Righties: .217/.270/.420 Floyd vs Righties: .288/ .356/ .394 Floyd's slugging is really bad. However, if Dye was brought on and used correctly, we would see much greater production out of right field. What's your other option, Jeff Conine? Matt Stairs? Don't get me wrong, I like Stairs, but as the outfield equivelant of Ward and nothing more.

  4. i suspect the payroll isn't as big of an issue as some make it out to be.
  5. he just seems, from a person with a bad memory, to be very inconsistent. i never know what to expect from lilly.
  6. i am quickly becoming an anti-fan of Gallardo i have to give it to the Brewers, though. they did an excellent job of building through the minors.
  7. don't get it twisted. lol. i am very excited for this series, but moreso because we are in the midst of a playoff chase than playing the cardinals alone. i will be more excited when they play milwaukee in august, probably. it's because we have more at stake than just proving a point vs saint louis.
  8. is it just me, or do cub/cardinal games seem to have less umph to it when the cubs are in a division race and st louis isn't?
  9. did you people suddenly forget the rabbit?
  10. we neeeeeed power, but i don't see him getting a griffey or dunn, unfortunately. probably matt stairs and maybe a bullpen arm, though that's so unnecessary. kenny lofton would be decent, i guess, but hendry really needs to focus his powers.
  11. tied up, braun homer
  12. your avatar is epileptic-fit-inducing. :pukel:
  13. mil vs cin = capuano v harang la vs hou = billingsley v sampson sd v col = maddux v francis atl vs sf = smoltz v cain some good matchups tonight, other than la/houston.
  14. If Renteria is out there, then would it be possible for Hendry to snag him with Marshall, + ?
  15. Yunel Escobar is there right behind Renteria.
  16. because if the cubs do that while the brewers play .500, the cubs wind up in first place, correct?
