  1. the new-ness of the 2006 season has already worn off. it's going to be a loooooooooooong summer.
  2. this thread was funny. there should be a different one for the hill discussion, it's quite interesting
  3. isn't that considered a big part of insanity: when you keep doing something over and over again even though it never works?
  4. rotoworld has the same thing posted, probably from the same article, im not too sure.
  5. Have the Cubs won the simulated WS yet? Over the last two seasons with Wood and Prior going every game they've probably had a good chance to do so. The Cubs are 35-11 in simulated games over the last two years. JoBo and Rusch haven't held up their end of the rotation. Still 24 games over 500 is pretty nice. 35-11 is real nice, quite probably leading the NL Central, may in fact, be the NL's best record. only record...best record. same difference i guess
  6. you know what, i noticed this too. it's funny how when the cubs orginization tries to get things done, they are alot like the bush administration. just tell us what is going on.
  7. No. other than buck being a complete idiot, why wouldn't they play one of the best hitters on the team in this, such a pivitol game? There is really no other reason. But hopefully today's performance convinced him to play DLee at first from now on, and to hell with spreading around the PT. one would think, if one had the capacity to, that in trying to win a championship of any sort, you would play the best players available, no?
  8. No. other than buck being a complete idiot, why wouldn't they play one of the best hitters on the team in this, such a pivitol game?
  9. without going through the entire thread, did lee play at all today?
  10. thanks for the updates, balsa. it's not unappreciated.
  11. i don't think this is going to be on comcast. it's not listed in the newspaper as being on here in peoria, and the ticker on espn shows that the game is in progress right now.
  12. interesting that he said boston specifically, and said boston first. maybe the first part doesn't mean much, but i'd like to see the guy pitch for the red sox to end it. always good to squash beef before opprotunities to are gone.
  13. how bad is it if i thought about how wrong that was, then abruptly lol'd anyway?
  14. well, let's just hope neifi is deemed a distraction or clubhouse cancer and cut.
  15. nah, i love dlee; i just said this for the sake of conversation. i mean, would these guys be able to produce on a major league level and win?
  16. so, let's say it's 2008. your position players look alot like this: LF: Matt Murton CF: Felix Pie RF: Brandon Sing 1B: Brian Dopirak 2B: Eric Patterson SS: Ronny Cedeno 3B: Aramis Ramirez C: Michael Barrett(?) maybe it's not totally realistic(the kool aid has got my mind warped), but would this be enough to compete?
  17. thank you to everyone that participated in this thread today. it's nice to come home from work and be able to relive the game in 10 minutes.
  18. wow. hopefully he can realize how petty this is before he dies and allows himself to enjoy life.
  19. that prediction is about as bold as saying kruk is fat.
  20. so, i caught the part where he got hit in the first inning but had to leave and never heard the outcome. did he get a concussion, or not... basically what's his prognosis?
  21. this spring training is almost exciting. the young position players seem to be doing well and the pitching has been outstanding. hopefully it will carry over.
  22. low to derrek lee 1-0, lee takes a curve that missed 2-0, lee hits high fly, deep but playable. 3rd out
  23. hairston takes inside, curve fouled off towards booth, 1-1 i believe, not jerry hairston GRISSOM :( grissom takes low, 2-1 low and away... i was wrong. grissom walks
  24. juan pierre up: takes inside, 1-0 runner goes, cedeno is out at second, count on pierre is 2-0 on pitch in the dirt, pierre takes a strike, ron's cell phone is ringing, juan fouls it off to the right side, 2-2 count slappy swinging strike out, 2 down
