  1. -a homerun that should have been a strikeout two pitches earlier -a 'ducksnort' single between walker and jones -a bunch of pitches getting fouled off -a wild pitch where kerry missed his spot by a bit, though barrett could have done more to get to it -another homerun. come on kerry. this is exactly how it used to be. he gets rattled and loses it. geesh.
  2. this is your test kerry. can you recover after a couple hits and a run and not lose control.
  3. I've only noticed one pitch on the gun, and it was 89. Thanks blue. saw 94 once, 93 just a pitch ago
  4. eh, that should have been a strikeout.
  5. looks smooth and easy to me. not as violent as previously?
  6. how do the mechanics look to ya'll that know about that sort of thing?
  7. After almost being hit in the face by a ball thrown by a fan from the right field bleachers last night, Jacque Jones got the last word, reminding Cubs fans everywhere: "It went right past my face. I'm not going to let one person ruin my time here. I signed for three years..." And with that, Jones pwned us all.
  8. why would corey do well with the cubs again? the fans would boo him and under the current administration, he would go back to his old tricks. it's bad we have jacque, but the cubs blew it with patterson and it'd be no use to get him back.
  9. have they learned absolutely nothing?? i'd like to put the shock face here, but i'm not shocked.
  10. change cedeno and pierre, then murton and cedeno and i think we have a winner.
  11. Bynum LF Perez SS Walker 1B Jones CF Mabry RF Hairston 2B Theriot 3B Blanco C Rusch P You had me until I got to the pitcher. I could totally see Dusty doing something like this. dude, you gotta play the bench guys. this lineup's a slumpbuster(not of the mark grace kind)
  12. ding ding ding we have a winner!
  13. hendry doesn't remember that the astros in 04 changed managers before they turned it around, as did the 03 marlins? hmmmm
  14. if the cubs can't beat the nationals 2 out of 3 at least,
  15. not personally, but i think we all know people that may. and as far as money, most are locked in to their deals, and in this era most gm's will sign someone with an impressive contract year performance. jones is in his first year, ramirez is locked up for a bit iirc, perez, rusch, etc. pierre is the one person i can think of who is playing poorly in the last year of a contract. maddux is in his last year, and we'll see what happens with wood.
  16. oh yeah scott, that whole, man they hit that wild pitch hard to drive in those runs today. that thing. totally understand now.
  17. no simulated games scheduled for tomorrow?
  18. And yet, you will listen in on spring training games, and watch 150+ games anyhow. Yeah, we've all likely said what you just did. yeah i know. even during the current trainwreck, i find myself late for work trying to listen to the last ab of an inning before i get out of my car.
  19. Freedom isn't free. It takes folks like you and me freedom cost a buck o .... fiiiiiiiive!
  20. my simulated excitement is through the simulated roof!
  21. if he gets an extension i will give up on the cubs. been a fan my whole life, but i couldn't deal with that. no one should willingly accept that much stress into their life.
  22. That is certainly the likelihood, but lets hope that JH does something to kcik these guys in the pants and make them understand that heads will roll and this nonsense will not be tolerated. it would be nice to hear jim talk to each of the players on the 25-man roster the way that first round draft pick said hendry did him.
  23. That MUST not be true. This team has quit. Changes MUST be made, and they must be made during tomorrow's day off; the organization as it currently stands cannot remained unchanged before the next game. Firing Dusty before one more game is played is MANDATORY. If Hendry won't pull the trigger, then MacPhail must step in and do it himself. there were two things i meant by what i said: 1) dusty probably won't be fired 2) even if he is, not much will change unless the whole staff is let go(including rothschild which will not happen), and then it will take time for the team to recover. basically, this season is done, and hendry has too big of an ego to realize the mistakes he's made and try to regroup completely.
