  1. Very good news. I'm glad that he's been practicing this whole time. We (UK, but I'll be a student there next fall, so :P) desparately needs someone who can at least defend inside and catch the ball. It's great news for all of us Cat fans and Alumni! Ironically, the thing that convinced the panel to shorten the suspension was the now-infamous fax he sent to Tubby Smith t start this whole fiasco. I think it may have been the "Beer of the Month" membership and the Heavenly Ham that Tubby sent Myles. :P
  2. But when you blow your nose do you ask for a Puffs? Most people ask for a Kleenex which is a brand name...
  3. Don't forget the Crown Royal as well. Nothin' say Christmas quite like the little purple drawstring bag.
  4. Liquid carmelized sugar? You can't call it coke cause you might end up with something else (paging Doc Gooden). How about "soft drink"?
  5. Have you ever bowled say 100 games in a week for say 6 weeks straight? If not, do that and tell me that bowling is not physically demanding. Oh yeah during those 600 games you should be able to average around 225-230 since you more than likely are bowling in the same house. Name one professional bowler who weighs anywhere near 500 lbs. Didn't think so. How about 400 lbs? 300 lbs? Other sports? What does Tractor Traylor weigh? What did Cecil Fielder tip the scales at when he played? Every NFL team has 10-15 guys who break the 300 lb barrier. I find it humerous that because bowling allows all types to compete recreationally, so everyone assumes that the professions look like the guy next to at the local bowling alley on Jack-Pot bowling on Saturday night. Hey I play ball down at the local park and there's a guy that is probably 6'0" and nearly 400 lbs (and he has a great outside shot) so I guess basketball must be in the same league.
  6. Its really awesome getting in another team's head. You become really vocal and loud and cocky. Other team (who is better than you) becomes disjointed and loses focus. We then win. My buddies and I aren't cutthroat bowlers, but our emphasis is having fun and getting under people's skins. Not being just total jerks to them like rubbing stuff in their face, just being loud and obnoxious. Not directed at you Mark but rant anyway: You can be loud all you want. Punch or kick something in the middle of my backswing and someone is going to have to pull me off of you. Loud drunks don't bother me since most times my game gets turned up a notch (usually involves asking other party to put their money where their mouth is) and then they just become drunks but the punching and kicking of crap or dropping the ball on the floor is unacceptable and will be stopped.
  7. Everyone can do it? Umm, incorrect. Everyone can do ANY sport, but not to the same skill level. Oh, I agree. But when the argument is used in the debate for NASCAR that "I drive a car so it's not a sport" it is the same mentality.
  8. But isn't Mike Davis coaching this team?
  9. But running, swimming, and jumping there is no defense. So an athletic event yes. A sport??? Now if say the NYC Marathon was ran during rush hour traffic now that is a sport. Or a swimming event with a pool full of bull sharks now that makes it more interesting. Or how about randomly adjusting hurdle heights? Now there's a challenge.
  10. Haha, that's true. Is that implying that it's easier to ride a winning horse to victory than it is to drive the best car to victory? I've never ridden a horse or driven a really fast car, so I wouldn't know. Or that the horse gets credit for the victory, while the car driver does as well. Because the horse's services can be sold for big $$$ if he/she is a winner and the car can't reproduce?
  11. Leaning heavily towards "yes". :P The poll will end up being "no" due to the fact everyone can do it. Just as NASCAR is compared to driving back and forth to work.
  12. Run now. Before A.S. gets back you'd better build a big lead or it's over.
  13. Only if done at 200 mph and there is a chance of "The Big One" happening.
  14. Is it me, or does Thea look like Ricki Lake?
  15. s/b under "Rivalries"?
  16. I hate the NCAA, hypocritical pricks. I have no love for UK, but that is BS on the part of the NCAA. They should just get rid of the "test the waters" rule altogether IMO. But he went beyond "testing the waters" when the agency set up the workouts and received the feedback from teams. Also there was around $7,000 of expenses that he needed to pay for upfront if he was following the rules. A whole season seems a bit extreme but he has no but himself and whomever he listened to for this.
  17. Old school... Jane Kennedy
  18. At work (but not working). Just got done cutting donuts in the parking lot when I came back from lunch. The great thing is the owner did some first so I figured what the H.
  19. Can they offer him a contract or does it have to go the arbitration route? If so, why not offer up 2 years/6 mill with incentives? With Cedeno (slumping) and ARam (injury) needing time off and the possibly of Walker being moved I would take a chance on him.
  20. Hey dude, your pet peeve just left something on the floor and you'd better clean it up.
  21. unbelievable, the worst/2nd worst MVC team beats the supposed 2nd/3rd best Big 10 team this year. also Northern Iowa beat Iowa in OT tonight. A great night for the Missouri Valley Conference. Man, that game sucked. Same ol' IU team. They still can't find a way to pull out a close game. They rush shots and make bad decisions down the stretch. That's not a well coached team. That's been the m.o. of Davis' tenure at IU. He can recruit, no one can deny that, but he just get out-coached in almost every game. Got the Ryder gassed up and ready to go for you Mr. Davis.
  22. Let's hope they play like that at Worthen Arena against BSU on New Year's Eve. We might have a prayer then. I think Davis and the team must have ready Andy Katz's article after the Duke game: No mention of ISU and I think they had spent their time getting ready for UK and forgot they had a game to play last night. So Saturday should be interesting since we aren't sure which IU team will show up. If it is the team that played Duke then they should stay in the game and at least have a shot to win. If it is the team that played last night get ready for Mike Davis' "Head Thumpin' Part Deux".
  23. Should the Cubs be talking to him? Or is the ungodly high closer FA market this year making him too high of an option? Or is the bullpen set?
  24. That is not a championship team. I don't think the talent is that great, and the depth sucks. Not even close to a team like UNC who won last year. But I don't think any team this year has the talent that UNC had last year. UConn may get there once they get players back. This year may be as wide open a year when it comes to teams that could win it all because of no dominant teams.
