    I think its time for a change of scenery deal for Corey. Maybe Hoops or one of our knowledgeable folks could ID a few players in similar contractual situations that could also use a change. This could be the best thing for all parties. Things just don't look like they are going to change.

    I wonder if Blanco will still catch Prior. Perez, Macias, Blanco and Patterson (with his struggles) in the same lineup together is not a pleasant thought at all. :-& I just threw up in my mouth.

    Kerry gets real injuries...not sissy ones like Blisters. If you are going to get hurt, go for the gold. Blow out your elbow or your shoulder trying to throw the ball through the catcher. At least Wood can respect himself. I certainly can't say the same thing for blister boy.

    Maddux gives up a lot of homers these days, so I hate to put an extra runner on in the first inning for Overbay. IBB to Lee is a 5th inning on sort of thing, not a 1st inning thing.

I know one thing, I will never forget the look on Brenly's face when BK blew the second consecutive game. Classic. I agree with you and see where you're going. Our awful manager had 2 horses as well in 2003 and couldn't get it done with a 3-1 lead. Maybe our awful manager can get a title too :wink: "It'd be nice. Nice little plus!" (That should be funny for anyone who has seen David Spade's "Take the Hit".

    Maybe I am in the minority here, but I think Brenly kinda sucks. The guy was an awful manager and just doesn't bring anything special to the booth. Len constantly sets him up to provide an insiders angle and Brenly frequently flubs it. While I agree that Stoney was getting more than a little bitter and spiteful at the end, I still much prefer him to Brenly. I think a Len-Stone team would have been awesome.

    His stats are nothing special this season. I know his career OBP is pretty good, but his power numbers are nothing special either.

    Well, Davy Gregg made me look dumb. I'll have to smack him around when I see him. ;) USC has a glut of outfielders for next season so we (as in Carolina) shouldn't miss him too much. Not sure how successful he will be in the Cubs organization, but one thing is for sure, he will work hard.

    Absolutely. When he comes in to the game, the should flash "Game Over" on the scoreboard, like they do in LA for Gagne, because when we see Macias, its game over for the Cubs chances of rallying.

    Vance is, dare I say, en fuego! I think that is the way many of us felt about Dusty initially and how are opinions of him have evolved. Although I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the strong, albeit minority, group of posters who hated this hiring from day one.

    This hasn't been mentioned yet, but what do you think this is going to do to Hairston's confidence, other than kill it. Neifi knows that he is a bench guy, but Hairston figured he would get a shot at some starts. If he platoons these two because Neifi is a switch hitter, I will vomit. Its the Cubs fans that are cursed, not the team itself. We have our best collection of talent in a LONG time and who is our steward? Dusty freaking Baker. Simply amazing.
