  1. Which makes this trade even worse. Agreed. :banghead:
  2. Every NFL team has at least someone that's decent. That said, I doubt we're getting anyone that good. On twitter, they are saying its literally a player to be named later. I could see us maybe getting a 3rd along with that. I don't think I've ever heard of a PTBNL trade in the NFL.
  3. I know. It is unreal. :stickman:
  4. Good. Now it's time to defend that title.
  5. It is all about the experience of the fans actually at the game. If I'm just sitting on the couch watching the game, I can hit the mute button if I don't feel like hearing it. The one game I attended this season was the May 7th game where the Cubs rallied to beat the Reds and I enjoyed singing along to the song after that win. The energy of actually being at the ballpark trumps all. That was also the first 9th inning comeback I've witnessed in person at Wrigley so yeah I had a good time. I only get out to Wrigley maybe once a year so I'm not going to feel guilty about enjoying a Cubs win regardless of their overall record.
  6. It sounds like the players and owners agree on all the major points but are still hashing out the smaller details. I think this will all be done by the end of the day on Sunday but that is just my uninformed opinion. :P
  7. The players haven't had time to review the entire agreement set forth by the owners either. That seemed to be a pretty consistent message from the various NFL players interviewed on NFL Network tonight.
  8. I think there's a happy medium. Guys like Brennamen and Harrelson have a tendency to excessively whine and complain, almost even bash other teams. There could be a little bit of rose colored glasses here, but Len doesn't really go there. When I think "homer" I think of someone who calls the game based more on a rooting interested than what is actually going on. Of course there should be a slight bias, but not to the extent that some guys call a game. Brennaman does whine a lot. In general he is very, very difficult to listen to. I have a hard time calling him a total homer though because he does rip into the Reds too. I can't say I've ever heard Hawk do that. Granted, I try my best to never watch Sox games.
  9. Bob ripping on a Marlins pitcher who is napping in the bullpen. =D>
  10. This. I can't stand Brennaman but I loved the way he called that home run.
  11. Capobianco is officially transferring to Valpo and takes a swipe at Tom Crean on the way out the door. http://www.nwitimes.com/blogs/sports/valparaiso-university/article_b49b0cdc-a599-11e0-a88b-001cc4c002e0.html Edit - apparently Bobby thought he should have been shooting 3-pointers instead of setting screens.
  12. A lot of Painting going on! :P Seriously?? I don't think teams cutting players happens as much as people say (because the kids see the writing on the wall too) but this fits the same profile as some of the Indiana cases. Molock was not as good of prospect anymore after the injury. Purdue didn't need him anymore now that they have two other point guards coming. And Purdue needed to open up a scholarship in order to pursue guys like Harris. There was probably a secret hope that Molock would leave, and now he has. How much was his decision and how much was Purdue's decision/pushing is up for debate. =D>
  13. A lot of Painting going on! :P
  14. Same thing here in Fort Wayne which is really, really weird. I can't remember the last time a Reds game bumped a Cubs game off FOX up here. Chicago teams generally get preference usually. :x
  15. QB Gunner Kiel, #1 QB in the class of 2012, top 20 overall in that class, allegedly giving Indiana serious consideration. I refuse to believe it until I see it. That would just be HUGE for Coach Kevin Wilson and Indiana football. I'd like to be pleasantly surprised but Gunner is also being recruited by the likes of Oklahoma and Alabama so...yeah.
  16. I think I would have stopped flying after the first plane crash. Wow, that is awful. :( Apparently his dad was the pilot both times. Yeah. His dad was a doctor here in Fort Wayne.
  17. I think I would have stopped flying after the first plane crash. Wow, that is awful. :(
  18. Making this trade doesn't mean that Bird isn't going to address the frontcourt too.
  19. I guess I did not realize Hill is 6'2, I was thinking he was taller than that for some reason. But I still like the trade and I do believe more moves are coming.
  20. Sounds like a deal! Wow, that is awesome. =D> I'm trying to decide whether to like this deal. I like Hill, but I liked Leonard and the Pacers lost both their 2nd round pick and the rights to Lorbek. Lorbek will be annoying because he'll probably come over now that he's on the Spurs even though he wouldn't come over to Indiana all these years. I'm just trying to figure out where Hill fits. Is he just the backup point guard/shooting guard? Are they going to push Collison or George to the bench? Before the draft, if you told me the Pacers could turn the No. 15 pick into George Hill, I would have been thrilled. However, I was ecstatic to be able to pick Kawhi Leonard at No. 15. So I'm kind of torn (feel a bit like trading Bayless a few years ago). Leonard is a bit of a redundancy on the Pacers, so I understand it from that aspect . . . but Hill seems a bit redundant too. I'm not sure if he replaces Collison or George or if he's the third guard. I'm pretty happy about the trade, but still digesting. Regardless, the Pacers still need a power forward/athletic big man. I was presuming Hill would slot as the starting 2 guard but I could be wrong. I highly doubt he is being brought in to replace Collison unless a corresponding trade is in the works. George can still be a big part of the rotation. I was thinking the acquisition of Hill would mean two things: 1) Brandon Rush is definitely gone and 2) A.J. Price's minutes as backup PG could decline since Hill can play both guard positions. Overall I just feel like the Pacers already have a nice nucleus of young talent and now is the time to add more proven NBA talent to the roster. I will admit I know nothing about the Leonard kid though so drafting him did not excite me much before the trade was announced.
  21. Sounds like a deal! Wow, that is awesome. =D>
  22. There are rumors the Pacers are trading the Leonard kid to the Spurs for George Hill but I'm waiting to see something official.
