    You mean the Ryan Dempster of 2008? OH, SO SMALL AND SO NERVOUS. Cue Beerhere feeling personally offended by your post. That Ken Holtzman must have been pretty good at pitching. He had three separate scoreless inning streaks of 33, 28 and 27.

    10-4. He wasn't called up until after the win over the Mets on June 25. So it's 11-4 in the last 15 games and 10-4 with Rizzo. I don't care about being off by one game. I still like the 11-4 mark.

    I hated Jordan at that time and I knew plenty of people that didn't like him either. But in hindsight that might have been more of a reaction to the obnoxious Bulls fans that I went to school with. I dunno.

    That is true. When I originally went to create this game thread, I saw Dempster listed as the expected starter on yahoo.com and then I checked cubs.com and they had Maholm listed. I don't trust yahoo sports so I went with Maholm.

    Never said that. I suggest you read carefully. I realize that and I was just tweaking you a bit. You are not the only person who dislikes Dempster on this site (and far from the most fervent hater) so I'm not sure why you feel called out by what El Duderino said.

    2008 bothered me more than 2003 because the 2008 team was legitimately the best team in the NL that year...er until October I guess. Winning 97 games, the Z no hitter, the way the offense had been clicking...yeah. I got over the 2003 NLCS about 2-3 days after Game 7 ended.
