  1. Why is there a dude wearing a crown singing the stretch? lol
  2. Josh Hamilton is a good story but of course, any good story will be beat to death by the media. That doesn't mean it isn't a good story anymore, it just means the media overkill might make a person gag. But I really can't see myself looking at the entirety of the Hamilton story and just saying "well who cares, he did it to himself anyways". True, he did put himself in the bad situation to begin with but good people can get drawn in by dark forces and when you have a very public example of an individual who managed to overcome a really bad situation and get back on his feet, it is a source of hope for others who are struggling with the same issues.
  3. Yeah, I don't get it at all. Wow, I haven't heard boos that loud in a while.
  4. Yeah Marmol is hurt and let's just keep him in the game. Nice.
  5. Pish posh, it's not a good day for Harden unless he gets that 10th strikeout.
  6. Wow 98 mph? Too bad he is losing his velocity, thanks Stoney. :P
  7. 13 pitch inning. Not bad, he could give us 7 innings if he keeps that up.
  8. Nice work reds. :hello:
  9. C'mon Kendall. I know you have a DP in you.
  10. Yay two outs. Runner at 3rd.
  11. Oh boy, a one out double.
  12. David Weathers. Ugh. Please don't suck dude.
  13. that because the system is filled with fringe players...From Grace to Soto...The Cubs have had a horrible time drafting / developing position players... Obviously you are overlooking the great Gary Scott and Ty Griffin.
  14. if the cubs just traded for one of the top 5 or so pitchers in baseball, i'd not only print up t-shirts but i'd make an oath to have my future kid's first and middle initial be c's so i can honor him forever. :hello: hi I will admit that if I had a child during the summer of 2004 I may have named him Nomar but now I'd just wait to make sure I was using a winning name. lol
  15. Guess I should know better than to believe anything the networks say by now. :banghead:
  16. Meaning that you don't want to hear it if they collapse as they had the chance to bury the division before September? I don't want to hear people saying we'll win 4 games all September because we're going on the road. I didn't see where anyone has said that in this thread. Finishing with 16 of 22 on the road is less than ideal, that is all. I don't think anyone should have an issue with the Cubs building as big of a lead as possible before that stretch begins.
  17. if the cubs just traded for one of the top 5 or so pitchers in baseball, i'd not only print up t-shirts but i'd make an oath to have my future kid's first and middle initial be c's so i can honor him forever. :hello:
  18. I visited brewerfan.net and somebody there is printing up t-shirts to celebrate this trade. Seriously. ](*,)
  19. Hopefully they can gain some breathing room with more home games because I believe Len & Bob commented that the Cubs finish the season with 16 of 22 on the road, including the final 4 game series in Miller Park.
