  1. Nice to see the Niners remember Frank Gore is 1 of the best backs in the league. No reason Alex Smith should ever throw 40+ passes like last week.
  2. I read somewhere, cant remember where, that the Mariners have interest in Sandberg, so its a possibility.
  3. That username should go over really well here lol.
  4. Fixed for ya
  5. Absolutely. He was doing nothing more than showing them up. And Brandon Phillips rests his case. Give me a break
  6. The problem is, for $13m this year and $13.5m next year, the Cubs should be getting better production than what Fukudome has given them. He's a good player and would be a useful platoon player/defensive replacement on a contending team, but for that price, you really need something better at RF. Sure you'd want more for the money, but that does not explain their insistence on dumping him. They've gotten the 5th best OPS in the NL from their RF. That's Fukudome and Colvin, but both guys have about the same overall OPS. Fukudome's is more valuable given the 370 OPB to Colvin's 311. Since the all star break Fukudome has a 958 OPS with a ridiculous OBP of 450. Colvin, who keeps getting more playing time, is at a measly 767 with an anemic OBP of 308. Sure in theory you might get more production for the money spent, but where the hell is it actually going to come from? Fukudome needs to play more for this team, as he's been a positive despite not being as good as hoped for. Wait, that can't be true, Fuku only plays good in April and then sucks the rest of the year Ive been told....
  7. WTF are you expecting? How about giving Wellington Castillo some playing time?
  8. Which is why I no longer get mad at Lou leaving the starters in for 115 pitches almost every night. He doesn't have much of a choice at this point. When you are as far out as the Cubs are in late August, its even more asinine leaving starters in for 115 pitches in any game, crap bullpen or not. No reason at all for it, especially yesterday with Dempster in that heat at Busch Stadium.
  9. Id put odds of LaRue actually not being hurt at all at about 70/30. I can see LaRussa playing up the "Cueto kicked the [expletive] out of him and hes got concussion, etcc..." just to try getting Cueto a longer suspension knowing losing Cueto really hurts the Reds. LaRussa already is lobbying MLB for swift disciplinary action.
  10. Apparently we are back to the Dusty Baker days of certain positions have to hit in certain parts of the order. Micah Hoffpauir is playing 1st tonight and hitting 3rd and Hill gets to play over Castillo, not that its a shock or anything.
  11. I really hope Castillo gets the majority of the starts over Hill. I doubt he will, but he really should.
  12. Anybody know anything about Marcus Mateo? Hes been called up in place of Atkins.
  13. 6 games are you kidding me? The Cubs really need to stick up for Davis in this case, 6 games is absurd. He was worried about the safety of his players, noway in hell he deserves 6 games.
  14. It gives the Cubs time to look for a new manager outside of the organization. That's the only one I can think of. Even if he resigned theyd still have time to look for a new manager outside the organization. No reason Trammel couldnt slide over to manage rest of the year and bring someone from minor up to replace Trammel as bench coach.
  15. And why exactly did you HAVE to read the thread?
  16. Z is starting Monday vs the Giants
  17. How old was Favre's daughter when she gave birth? Dammit, 20. Though his other daughter is just 11... this is a pretty keen post if you catch my drift [expletive] you too. Dont you have a jaw that needs mashed in again?
  18. Wow you are hilarious, [expletive] you
  19. boy i read your first two sentences and got really excited, thinking that you were actually making a post that didn't involve your irrational hatred for dempster. what a letdown. Thats exactly what I did. I was like holy [expletive] he/she is making a post without mentioning Dempster, and then BAM there it is lol. Its hilarious
  20. Well at this point in the season the only thing Im rooting for is a bench clearing brawl with the arrogant punks on Milw.
  21. At this point I cringe everytime the Cubs have a game doesnt really matter vs who.
