  1. What. Perhaps I'm wrong, but there has to have been a good chance back in the early-to-mid 90's when the Bulls/Blackhawks each won playoff contests and the Cubs/White Sox won games. While thats probably true, I think the weekend was magnified because of how the Cubs, Bulls, and Hawks won. Cubs win on a walk off against long time hated rival, Bulls win on the road in OT against the defending Champs, and the Hawks come back from a 2-0 deficit to win. I wont go so far as to say its the greatest day in Chicago sports, but it definately was 1 hell of a good day for a fan of of 3 teams. I'm thinking any day a championship is won by one of your teams, it's better than two playoff victories and a regular season win against a rival. Agreed which is why I said I dont think it was the greatest day in Chicago sports, but 1 hell of a day none the less. Also, the only championships I remember are the Bulls, as I was only 5 when the bears won, and wasnt old enough to "celebrate" when the Bulls won any of theirs. And well the Cubs...yea you know about that one :D
  2. You can try in get the first pitch tickets Saturday morning. They start selling the tickets at 9 AM the day of the game. It costs $11 for a voucher for 2 tickets. You have no idea where your tickets will be until you enter the stadium. You'll probably want to get in line a couple of hours early, and you'll probably end up with SRO. At least you'll be in the stadium though. I'll be at the game Friday for sure, and might stop by Saturday and Sunday after the start of the games and see if I can scalp some cheap tickets. Yea there will be 5 of us, and we could get SRO on stubhub right now for like 20-25 a pc, but I cant seem to justify paying that price for a no seat, and then pay $8 or whatever it is for a beer. For that price Id rather just watch the game on a big screen at a bar with beer half that price. If some seats opened up Id be willing to pay for them, but not for SRO. Anywhere youd recommend to watch the game at? Ill be the only Cubs fan amongst 4 other damn Cards fans. Looks like the weather is going to be perfect down there this weekend. Oh and thanks for the suggestion on the "1st pitch tickets" but we wont be getting into STL till around noon-1 Sat.

  4. Im coming down Sat afternoon and staying here http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/STLMF/main.wnt. Im coming to town for State Bowling Tourney in Collinsville on Sunday, and was hoping to go to the game but wasnt able to get tickets. So instead we are planning on just going out around the stadium to the bars and such.
  5. I heard this morning on WSCR something about Larussa complaining about the Cubs gettingn all the calls or something, but I cant find it in an article anywhere. The only thing Ive seen him say is the Cubs get away with complaining about the umpires more than anybody hes seen, and this was in reference to Bradleys K, and Lou and others saying they thought it was a bad call.
  6. No, the NBA doesn't work like that. Even if it did, that would mean the Bulls would play Cleveland. Thankfully, it doesn't, so the Bulls would play Philly. I thought the NBA started reseeding after the 1st round recently? Or did they stop doing it recently? Or am I just crazy and Im just making stuff up? :D
  7. Ok question. With the upset Philly pulled off today it got me thinking. If Philly upsets Orlando, and the Bulls upset Boston, with Cleveland winning their matchup, would that mean the Bulls get the winner of Atl/Mia?
  8. Lous comments in the paper make it sound like Bradley will be in RF for this game. Also it is official that Harden is pitching Tues, because Lilly has been battling a cold so Lou pushed him back. Also Marshall will be available in the pen Tues and Weds, so hopefully we wont see Neil Cotts.
  9. So MLB puts in instant replay so we can make sure the umpires can get the calls right, and yet these arrogant bastards still cant get the call right. What a freaking joke, if Im Eric Wedge Im playing this game under protest.
  10. Thats not a HR for the Yanks. Thats fan interference
  11. Well big surprise here...Josh Beckett has had his 6 game suspension reduced to 5 games, and now wont miss a start at all. Ill just about guarantee the same wont be said for Bradley, whos actions are a lot harder to tell what happened than Becketts. I hate MLB offices
  12. And for todays Big Ten athlete to be arrested we have.......Purdues Lewis jackson is being held on drug and alcohol charges after a traffic stop. http://www.indystar.com/article/20090418/SPORTS0602/904180431/1004/SPORTS
  13. I think he'll be in Daytona by June. So your telling me I need to get my ass to Peoria ASAP huh.
  14. Look at Ryan freaking Dempsters suit...hahaha hes awesome
  15. Quad-fecta... even the Sox won today. Do we really have to include them? :D
  16. Hockey's an exciting sport. Wonderful, isn't it? :) Yea it is, I dont know a damn thing about penaltys or officiating, but Im a Chicago guy so I wanted to watch. Definately fun
  17. Ok this is probably my 1st hockey game Ive ever watched from the start, and even Im excited. I dont know if my heart can take much more excitement today after the Cubs and Bulls. The UC IS FREAKING LOUD!!!
  18. Rajon Rondo probably isnt going to put up 29 points per game all series Ben Gordon isnt going to make 1 3 pointer per game all series John Salmons isnt going to make 0 3 pointers per game all series The Bulls probably arent going to shoot 17% from 3's every game all series. Bulls in 6
  19. So whats everybodys opinion on Vitters staying in Peoria all year, or if he keeps hitting like this do you think they will promote him during the season?
  20. WOOOOOOOOOOO. Angel gets his 1st W of his ML career, and Aram gets another walk off HR, along with a Bulls OT WIN... WHAT A GREAT DAY!
