    signed out of the dominican in october 2006, pitched in DSL in 2007 (i assume), AZL in 2008, now northwest league. Ahh didnt realize he was a Dominican sign. Im assuming hard thrower?

    I think the Yanks or Mets could throw alot of money at Holliday. Or Boston could decide to go for Holliday instead of re-signing Bay.

    Because we play in the worst division in baseball - that's how. Thats not true I'm going to assume that you're going to tell me that AL Central is worse,? AL Central and NL East. Outside of Philly, Id take the Cubs, Cards, Milw, and maybe Houston over any team in that division.

    Really? Really what? It would have been nice to get Gregg a day off, and there was no reason to bring him in right there. Let Shark get the 1 out and if he cant do it and they get within range to tie it then bring in Gregg. Gregg pitched in every game of the series and threw alot of pitches Friday. We are in a stretch of 30 games in 31 days, when you have a chance to rest him, it needs to be done.

    So basically they did what good teams do, they beat the crap teams. Even still, sweeps are not an easy thing to accomplish, no matter how bad the teams are. The Cardinals have played the easiest schedule in baseball so far this year, so they were living off bottom of the barrel teams all 1st half pretty much.

    Thats funny since the ump blew a call at 2nd base on Lugos 1st inning double leading to a run today, and the ridiculous umpire interference call which took away a stolen base from Victorino. That call at 2nd looked like about as much of a tie goes to the runner situation as you can have. (yes, I realize that's not a rule.) It could have gone either way. But Encarnacion shouldn't even have been on base, so in reality, it shouldn't have even been a question because the fly ball would have been the 3rd out. Lugo was out. Hell even the Stl TV guys said he was out
