  1. Nice inning Z! LETS GET SOME RUNS!
  2. Stl up 1-0 on a Holliday double. What a horrible route to the ball from Kemp. Why did Loney cut the ball?
  3. Welcome back from hell :D Eh I'm living with my parents, I'm still in hell ;) Living with parents, or living in MO? Thats a tough choice :D
  4. Lets see if Stone has the balls to call out Leyland, like hes tried to with Bruce.
  5. BFIB boo Manny, yet they cheer Ryan Franklin, steroid user..Lugo a wife beater, and Ankiel the HGH user. Really are BFIB
  6. 1st pitch hasnt even been thrown yet, and Dan Shulman is sucking off the fans
  7. Leave it to ESPN. They are broadcasting this game with a broadcaster in each dugout, and Dan Shulman in the booth. Hershiser is in 1 dugout, and Phillips is in the other. Im surprised the teams agreed to this
  8. LA vs Stl Wolf vs Carp Game is on ESPN Go Dodgers!
  9. Man that lineup with Soto in there, would be stacked against leftys.
  10. Only if they pay a significant amount of his salary. 08:$8.5M, 09:$12M, 10:$12M, 11:$12M, 12:$12M club option ($1M buyout) That's a lot of money, even for a very good closer. Yea when I say off their hands, I was meaning by robbing them blind. :D
  11. Yea that .289 OBP is fantastic for Taveras
  12. What is recently? We played them just a month ago June 23-25 I believe, some hack journalist might have remembered seeing Tigers scouts at games in early June and saw the reports yesterday about MB and decided to put something together about scouts at games. It has been known for a while now that the Tigers are looking for another bat, and don't have a great amount of money to spend so maybe it is just Hoffpauir or Fox. Recently was this weekend and last week. I will try to locate the article and post a link. I agree with you though, if it was prior to June 23, no big deal, but I think the fact that they were recently (last several games) scouting the Cubs is significant. Bruce Levine said in his blog that Detroit was there scouting this weekend. However, who knows if they were scouting the Cubs or the Reds.
  13. It was no guarantee he was only going to face 1 batter. Also there is a difference between warming up, and coming in the game. With that said, Id expect Marmol to close tonight, with Gregg not even being in the bullpen.
  14. Juice Williams is singing the stretch tonight
  15. Gregg has been quoted saying the whole getting up, then down, then getting back up thing only bothered his knee in the early part of the season, because of the cold weather. Hes said in the warm weather its fine. He was up in the 8th, sat back down, then had to get back up in the 9th when Shark gave up 2 hits. Had the tieing run came to the plate, fine bring him in. But there was no logical reason to bring him in after Shark got the 2nd out.
  16. Levine talked about trades in his blog today. Mentions left handed reliever as pretty much a guarantee. Also mentioned Teahan. Also Doug Davis, Garland, and Gorzelanny. http://espn.go.com/chicago/columns/blog?post=4357466&name=levine
  17. I don't think you can sacrifice a bad player to the baseball Gods. I believe, actually, that it was late in Spring Training when Lou sacrificed Milton for a late July surge. He temporarily drained Dempster and Ramirez for August, Harden and Soto for September, and now Lilly to advance to the NLCS. I'm also pretty sure that he sacrificed Miles, but all that gave the Cubs was extra batting practice over the All-Star break. I'm pretty sure they're just going to give Aaron Miles away to a good family who lives out on a farm if he keeps up his production down in AAA. Did you see Lous quote about Miles today? So that means we will never see Miles again, right? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-27-cubs-bits-chicago-jul27,0,4824668.story
  18. Stone quit, he wasnt fired. Bruce said so the other day that it was Stones own decision to leave. With that said, I like Len and Bob, over Stone. Yea Brenly has his favorites, but I disagree that Soriano can do no right in his eyes. He is hard on Soriano, but Sori brings most of that on himself at times. Hell just listen to todays game, and Brenly was gushing over Soriano going to RF today. Stone is just unbearable to listen to. He loves hearing himself talk, and thinks he knows everything there is to know about the game of baseball.
  19. Id really like to get 3 of 4 from the Stros. We catch a break and miss Fat Elvis since hes on the DL. Lets keep the big blue train rollin
  20. Is this true? I didn't even notice. Good to know. I cant remember where I seen it, but Im pretty sure they have either played the easiest or one of the easiest schedules. I remember hearing that. But the thing is, after this tough stretch they're in - it doesnt really get too hard for them at the end of the year either. Yea I found it. They have played the easiest schedule so far. http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/rpi
