  1. He didn't. First to third on the single, scored on the throwing error.
  2. Which Taylor are we talking about? Chester?
  3. How many years until hes a starter in the Big Leagues? Anybody wanna guess? Infinity.
  4. First ball hit to Castro. His MLB ST range factor is now 27. I think.
  5. I'm pretty darned jaded, but not so jaded not to get a shiver when Hughes just came on and said "Chicago Cubs baseball is on the air."
  6. I'm not even getting audio at all It just popped on as I opened this to say it wasn't coming in.
  7. I can't think of a draftee that really matches that description. Colvin I suppose, even if he's not super high on the athleticism scale. They have a lot of guys who are pretty good athletes and maybe strike out too much(Thomas, Flaherty, and Jackson immediately come to mind), but they all walk a good bit and don't match the Pattersonian model that it seems you're talking about. Cool. I was actually asking, not being rhetorical. I'm not that up on the minors these days.
  8. The free-swinging athletic types is still an organizational problem, isn't it?
  9. Season suspension, minimum. Same as the Oregon football player should have gotten. I'd probably include the postseason too, considering how late in the season that happened. I'm thinking "season" as in not back until the same point next season.
  10. Season suspension, minimum. Same as the Oregon football player should have gotten.
  11. With five points in the last two nights, Kane is on pace for 96. 100 is not completely out of reach if he heats up.
  12. From your keyboard to Hjarmie's stick.
  13. Blackhawks are first in the league in total shots and 12th in shooting percentage, for what it's worth.
  14. Obviously I'm one of the biggest supports Huet has, but those were two incredibly soft goals. You simply cannot be beat from the angle of the first goal, and you can't be that slow to close your five-hole on the second goal. Ugly.
  15. In what universe is that a valid no-call?
  16. Awful, awful goal to give up from Huet. Only chance we can get this overturned on review is some "intent to blow whistle" garbage.
  17. Absolutely. But then, I've never been sold on Niemi compared with most fans. He's a guy who barely beat out Crawford for the backup spot, then had a nice hot streak.
  18. I guess then it comes down to if you think Huet is going to play as badly as he has so far the rest of the season. I think he's at the low end of a slump and you'll see those numbers improve in the final 20 games and the playoffs.
  19. If that happens, absolutely. But it hasn't happened yet.
  20. There's a lot of mediocrity right there. The myth that you have to have a great goalie to win the Stanley Cup comes from the fact that a mediocre goalie who wins the Cup is automatically considered great for having won it. Those four guys I cut out above all have career save percentages lower than Huet's .915. Fleury does too, actually.
  21. This team is plenty good enough to beat any team in the Western Conference even with Huet on a cold streak. Khabibulin had some awful games in the playoffs last year. And Huet is perfectly capable of going on a hot streak. It'd be nice to not have to hope for that, but the "season over" garbage is just that.
