  1. We have to have a designated scapegoat. Zambrano isn't a bad guess.
  2. It's going to cost us an extra $5 million/year to convince him to come to such an awful team.
  3. "Throw pitches that are strikes, but make them hard to hit." "Thanks, Skip."
  4. Serious question... What did you think of the intentional walks Barry Bonds got a few years back when he was on that roid induced tear? Several of those were in similar situations. Bonds was a unique case. When he was OPSing 15 million, he crossed the theoretical threshold where it made sense to walk him every time up. Pujols isn't Bonds.
  5. Instead of worrying about what to do when the other teams' really good hitters are up, we should look into acquiring some of our own at some point.
  6. A Berkman double or worse is much more likely than a Pujols home run there. I really don't think walking him is the right move.
  7. That's what I think every time I see his name on an MLB roster.
  8. Is that guy available? We could use a good hitter.
  9. The fact that the ball hit Molina in the leg is evidence of his brilliance, apparently.
  10. I keep hearing how clutch this Darwin Barney kid is, but I don't see it.
  11. This could be a big win for the Cubs. Take the momentum into tomorrow and suddenly you are only 7 back.
  12. Nice use of your best pitcher in a high-leverage situation.
  13. Can we pay him $30 million this year to stop doing that?
  14. Never mind, we don't need a new 1b next year. Let's keep this one.
  15. Pujols showing off for his future teammates
  16. He's said stuff that's a lot stupider than that. A lot of people thought Barney was a reach in the fourth, but the Cubs knew it was a good pick because he led his winning team in college.
  17. "I'm hearing" is code for "The person who told me isn't important enough to be credible if I said it. Probably myself."
  18. Their low-ceiling filler rookie robbed ours.
  19. I'm about ready to write him off. Or maybe see if he has any trade value.
  20. Quade should get credit there for how he had his infielders perfectly positioned.
  21. All this talk about how nobody cares about the Cubs right now has made me actually feel like paying attention to them for the first time in awhile. Contrarianism FTW. I could get behind a total blow-up and overhaul. Sell the snot out of it at the trade deadline. Soeak up the high draft pick next year.
