  1. That was PI they just felt bad for the ones they haven't called.
  2. Important announcement: Justin Fields now has more 225/2 passing games than Tim Tebow.
  3. I'm not worried unless the offense looks like ass for the second second half drive in a row.
  4. OK he can pass now please don't get him hurt on stupid QB designed runs.
  5. Fields "on pace for the season" numbers are gonna be kinda fun after this one
  6. I'm ... stunned, I guess. This isn't the Literally Perfect half like last week, but it's darn good quarterback play. First drive, he hit some deep balls on busted coverage, good for him. The second TD is the one that gets me. He recognized Moore had a one-on-one and the *moment* Moore started his move, Fields put the ball out there where he knew Moore's move would take him and trusted Moore to get to the ball first. That's the "throw your receiver open" play we've been *begging* him to make.. There's been at least 6 or 7 completions this half that I know for a *fact* he would not have made in his career before this week, he would have hopped in place and not thrown the ball and we would have spent the week arguing about whether he should have thrown the ball or if no one was open. The third one wasn't *as* good, but do you know how many times I've seen him turn down that little TE shallow crossing route in his career? Tons. I did not expect to see some sort of light bulb flick and suddenly Fields starts doing all the things we've been begging him to do, but here we are.
  7. Do you know how many times I've seen Fields refuse to pull the trigger on that TE drag route across the middle in his career?
  8. Getz has some kind of read on the Washington defense on third downs and we've gotten three huge first downs out of that same run play on third and long.
  9. Yeah, that should have been PI, and maybe it could have been thrown a toucher sooner, but whatever. This is what NFL quarterbacking looks like. You see your receiver get a little leverage and put it out there. Sometimes he'll make the play, sometimes he'll get the call, sometimes he won't. But you can't hop in place forever hoping for something better.
  10. He, umm, saw Moore in one-on-one coverage and threw it at the exact moment Moore made the cut, trusting Moore to get there before the DB... Thats literally exactly what we've been begging him to do for 2+ years.
  11. I don't think he had a noticeable man/zone split before this season?
  12. I'm mostly memeing. But I call them as I see them, and for five quarters he's done *exactly* what I've been saying I wanted him to do. The only thing that really bothered me last week was the fumble. I'm not sure how to reconcile that with what he did all the games before this, I suspect it's a fluke and defenses will adjust, but he's doing it at this exact moment.
  13. That quick hit for the first first down of this drive was more impressive to me than the bombs.
  14. Hear me out. Fields flips the switch and becomes a superstar. Bears get first OA through Carolina. Trade the Caleb Williams pick for a million future firsts from a bad team, get the 10A that way in 2025, the cycle continues.
  15. Fields will have a HOF career if teams keep letting his receivers get wide open 25+ yards down the field.
  16. Saw a great reddit graph about "have won a game since oct. 25 2022" and it's every major pro north american team, every WNBA team, a bunch of soccer teams and more under "yes" and just the Chicago Bears under "no."
  17. I've seen a few places say the broncos played almost exclusively man early and then fields struggled when they switched to zone. I've also seen a few places say that was nonsense and they were running zone earlier too. I don't feel like watching the whole tape to find out who is right
  18. As someone who has his heart set on a full tank, fields was good enough on Sunday to make me nervous. Let's see what he has tonight
  19. My end of season thoughts: They're in better shape than I thought they were at the beginning of the season. Hoyer has earned some credit. They've proven fairly adept at cobbling together a good MLB offense out of undervalued parts. They were a top-5 team in the national league that got unlucky. I don't think tanking is generally a good idea, and I hate prospect fetishization, but a consistent farm system pipeline is the only way to have permanent sustained success and I like where we're headed. I think the Iowa Effect is fooling people on a lot of the hitters (Mervis, Canario) but I think PCA and Wicks establish themselves as MLB regulars out of the gate next season with Horton not far behind. There's no one I'm absolutely in love with after that, but the volume is there that it's likely some guys will emerge.
  20. Something I never noticed before: bedard uses an incredibly long stick for someone his size. Obviously he knows how to handle it, and it gives him a bit of extra reach and explains the zip on his snapper.
  21. Going into 2022, it was reasonable to take a breather year to reset your cap situation and stop trading away picks. But that didn't *have* to mean full scorched earth. That was Poles' choice and he gets to live with the results. I really, really want to like Poles. His value approach to accumulating picks is 100% the right move. There's a very plausible world where the Carolina pick ends up first overall and Bryce Young for Caleb Williams, DJ Moore, Darnell Wright and a few miscellaneous picks is a franchise-defining haul. But he makes so many bizarre positional priority decisions that are directly destroying the team.
