  1. They deserve this tonight. Looked competent and dangerous. Defense a little shaky but not insurmountable
  2. It's Bedard. He looks legit AF out there. That wrister that Jarry barely caught a piece of was nasty.
  3. The amount of attention Bedard draws on the ice is crazy. He got it on the point at even strength and three guys started moving toward him. And they had a guy completely dedicated to shadowing him on the PK
  4. Vikings missing their best player. Bears starting to get healthy. This game looks winnable. Still Vikings favored though, cousins with any receivers vs. this defense has disastrous potential. Mostly just care about seeing if fields can do it again against a team that has the last two games on tape
  5. I thought he looked even better than advertised and my estimation of him shot up. I still think he's a half step below Crosby as a prospect but I think he's better offensively than McDavid was at this age, and McDavid was ppg as a rookie. If bedard plays 80 games this year, 100 points are on the table. Saw him take plenty of wicked shots in preseason. The goals will be there.
  6. Having another bad team's pick and being able to root for the tank standings and still enjoy your team's wins is *nice*
  7. I know it's only 5 games into his career and you can't really judge a QB this soon, but it's hard to watch him play and feel like we missed out. It's funny watching Carolina fans already go through the "is our QB a bust?" cycle of panic. I'm feeling *real* good about having their pick this year. He *does* do a great job of sliding around in the pocket, but he has to because otherwise he wouldn't have sight lines or throwing lanes. Otherwise, the arm's not special, the vision isn't specal, the athleticism isn't special. I'd want a lot more from a 1OA
  8. It would bother me more if it were the opposite. If he could *only* work the middle of the field, defenses could take that away more easily. Working the outside usually means you're taking what they give you, because they take away the middle first. But I think the hashmark placement on that diagram is making it look worse than it was, I remember several over-the-middle throws.
  9. https://twitter.com/NextGenStats/status/1710099267627663863?s=20 NGS has it as the 4th most improbable completion of his career to date. But it's not the throw, it's the *timing* of the throw.
  10. Hard disagree. Failure to make these kinds of throws, endzone or otherwise, has been consistently his biggest problem.
  11. I didn't think the line was that much better last night, especially in pass protection.
  12. There's still plenty to nitpick and criticize. Not all his decisions or throws were perfect. He still has a long, slow release and drop. But you can work around flaws. You can't work around "refuses to pull the trigger on open receivers."
  13. https://x.com/NextGenStats/status/1710099267627663863?s=20 Pause this video at the 1.8 seconds after the snap mark. All of his receivers have defenders on them. The interior offensive line is getting beat and fields is going to be hit in about half a second. If he takes a sack or scrambles, people say "what can he do? No one was open and there was no time." Good NFL qb play beats both coverage and pressure
  14. If fields looks exactly like this and you have the number one pick through Carolina, you probably take Williams and wish fields well. But if he keeps playing like this he keeps his job for anyone short of Williams
  15. I hope he never runs again and it becomes like a weird sports trivia thing where people are surprised he had a lot of rushing yards one season early in his career
  16. Like I said, I'm legitimately intrigued by what I've seen this week in terms of getting the football out of his hands and giving his receivers an actual chance, finally. But I wouldn't be me if I didn't point out that we once saw Mitchy T throw for more yards, more TDs and fewer turnovers over a two-game stretch.
  17. I wanna see him do it after teams have had some time to get whatever's been going on the last two games on film. I wanna see him do it in the fourth quarter. I wanna see him do it in big games against other elite QBs. But I can't deny that for the last two games, he's done *exactly* what he hadn't been doing before, and has the results to show for it.
  18. Yet another pass that 2021-2023(week 4) Fields doesn't make.
  19. I suspect that missed field goal kills any chance of seeing field pass again tonight.
  20. It's impossible to tell from that tweet because they put a stupid blue blob below his feet.
  21. Washington's first drive was stalled on a terrible spot when they got the first down, and Fields got away with a blatant intentional grounding. It's been bad both ways equally.
