This I don't care about. Doesn't fit in our window and we were never going to out-bid the Yankees. Plus, outfield is not a need. Buh-wuh?!?!?!? Outfield is pretty much our biggest need. We have no good MLB outfielders. Not one.
That is the dream scenario. A legit shot at the ECF and the Heat are certainly vulnerable, especially if they have to go through Brooklyn LeBron James dies.
They've been pretty outstanding with trading in general. When they do make a trade. Their MO is to hold and hold and hold for high value, even if it means the asset is devalued while you wait. It means they look great in the trades they make, but that loses a bit of its luster when you consider how much value Garza lost or how many guys we got nothing for last year.
What do we make of the fact that Sanchez is really bad at throwing strikes, and at his highest two levels has a sub-8 K/9? He's a fine prospect but all indications are that he'll be valued like he's an elite prospect that's actually gotten hitters out, which I don't really have much interest in. You're not wrong, but it's funny saying stuff like that when we're looking to deal Samardzija for him.
I think I'd be pleased with any of Jackson, Aiken, Rodon, or Kolek at that pick at this point. Jackson seems most likely, of course... No matter what, it seems like the good part of the top of the draft will be at least four deep.
