  1. It's funny how awful and depressing we are but if we were to somehow come back and win this game, we'd be one game behind the Cardinals.
  2. It will never stop with Castro, will it? At least he can hit now and also that didn't hurt.
  3. List of players without elite power who can be productive with a 66% contact rate. .... go! Once you have that, we'll start figuring out how many can sustain a .377 BABIP. That production is in the past. There is no "while he is productive." He was productive. A reasonable analysis will predict that he won't be productive from now on
  4. too late it's been booked
  5. I'm really tired of Lake being on an MLB roster and variance's continued propping-up of him. Well, not really, I hope variance props him up forever. "i'm really tired of the guy who's probably been the most productive position player on the team since his call-up being rostered!" We don't pay for past performance, remember? All the indications of future performance still suck, no matter what the superficial numbers say.

  7. That probably represents the best lineup we could possibly put out there against a righty.
  8. Well it's a year plus 9 games but you're still probably right. It's just that Russell's just not very good anymore. And we have Rosscup just sitting there ready to go, almost 26 yrs old. I guess the question is, when was he ever really that good? His xFIP his rookie year was 4.23. That's his career best.
  9. How does this guy get hired by this front office? This front office is a lot more meatbally than I would have guessed. We bring in a lot of grit.

  11. Basically our fake rallies are capped at 4.5 starts until Baez comes up. And he's never going to not hit the walk-off.
  12. I would go 5/5 for the simple fact that one of our worst hitters managed to get on base to bring up the hitter with the highest BA on the team. Bonifacio actually is a crappy hitter, though. It's gonna be hard to go 5/5 because you need to have your really good hitters choke, and do we even have any of those?
  13. If we fielded this exact roster but were the Cardinals, we'd be 7-2 right now.
  14. Fake rally score: 4 stars/5 Loading the bases was a nice touch
  15. In Castillo's defense, that was nasty pitch after nasty pitch. Also, Castillo sucks.
  16. I preemptively accept your apology when I'm right about Olt long-term. And I'll continue to admire your waffling when he puts up close to an .800 OPS in 450+ at bats and there's so much positivity coming from you then it's alarming to most.
  17. I preemptively accept your apology when I'm right about Olt long-term.
