  1. 2, 36, next year's first and a future 2nd
  2. The falcons one is the only one that's even *close* to enough to grab my attention, and even then i would still rather just make the pick
  3. I would be extremely disappointed, I would predict bad things for the offense, and I would most likely be right. If I turned out to be wrong, I'd change my opinion as new information came in.
  4. I do occasionally get tired of arguing about it. So I don't open up my Internet Box, go to the site for sports discussion, click on the sub forum for Chicago Bears offseason discussion, and force myself to read posts about that subject.
  5. I think Purdy is a good reminder that you should be taking regular shots at QB in the late rounds. Even if you are also drafting one early or think you have the position settled.
  6. Fields is a much worse quarterback than you think he is
  7. You're trying to dance because you know, deep down, the facts don't support you, you just don't *like* the conclusion. The moment you tried to play off Fields' low attempts issue as a "style issue" or whatever is the moment I knew you weren't taking this exercise with any hint of honesty.
  8. Are you suffering from dementia? *you* gave 2 stats. I gave half a dozen.
  9. No. It's stats. You were wrong about the stats. And film if you watch that too. People want to cut this enlightened middle where "OK, we have to move on and draft Williams, but Fields isn't *really* that bad." He really is that bad.
  10. Not as many as I hope to watch next year if the alternative is Justin Fields.
  11. They had the same number of starts. Fields is the worst i've ever seen at turning called passes into non-attempts. Everyone is going to have more attempts than him in similar playing time.
  12. Succ%, ANY/A, INT%, passing yards, total yards, QBR, fumbles Fields has terrible stats, worse than a guy like Minshew, and the bad part is that he's actually worse than that. The stats don't show all the times he screwed over the run game with bad line checks. He really is that bad at QB and there's literally no plausible scenario where it makes sense for him to be your starting QB in 2024.
  13. Minshew is better at playing quarterback than Justin Fields is. It has nothing to do with vibes. You can't shackle your team to someone who is *that* bad at the quarterback's most important job: Decision-making.
  14. Fields isn't going to magically transform into something he's not. The upside isn't there.
  15. You're talking about adhering to a social contract you've already willfully excluded yourself from
  16. I don't think quarterback is a position you should be punching pennies at.
  17. I wouldn't say below replacement level, but it's not that far off. You can't just pick up an equal or better QB off the street for the league minimum, which is what replacement level means. But you can get one equal or better for a modest offseason one-year deal
  18. Less distraction, better QB play
  19. tbf his theory kinda predicts that
  20. You could try being less wrong.
  21. 6th best prospect at a position that is mostly populated with subpar athletes in the minors just ... isn't that good. Mervis was just never that good. He got a lot of fan love because the fanbase was eager for a high-minors prospect to latch onto, but he was just never that good and he's ending up exactly what he was always destined to be: A career AAAer who carves out some cups of coffee here and there.
  22. There's zero scenarios where it makes sense to go with Fields for another year. We'd be better off signing some dumb turd like Minshew off the free agent scraps.
  23. It's depressing that it's an argument. I'm open to "Caleb vs. trading down and taking a different QB." But the fact that Fields can be *this* bad this long and still have people jocking for him is like 70% of a Tebow.
  24. assuming we are limiting this to FBS, it's something 60.2% of teams failed to do
