  1. MILB.com changed their player page and it's awful now. BABIP has turned its back on Alcantara
  2. Maybe? I want to say yes, but the offense being awful the last few days is clouding my judgment.
  3. Feels like we haven't had a multi-run inning in a week.
  4. Not one pitch in the zone. And I've felt like he's been doing better at being selective... disappointing. Can't be lacking in both contact and discipline. He's been pretty decent at contact in the zone. Nothing like an Olt or a Jackson. He just swings at terrible pitches and he's never, ever going to see a good one ever again.
  5. Javy, seriously, you gotta find a way not to swing at those.
  6. In a million years, I don't know how you could differentiate between "kicking dirt" and hitting the gas to try to swerve away from the sudden appearance of an obstacle.
  7. It was sufficiently lit for racing. It wasn't sufficiently lit for some crazy person getting out and running at moving cars. But "horrible and unnecessary" is a good description for all dirt-track racing.
  8. The descriptions I read before I saw the video made Stewart sound soooo much worse than the video justified, imo. Maybe he was a reckless [expletive] who did something to contribute to the accident, but you'd have a helluva time proving it from the video.
  9. MLB.com has Almora ahead of him      I think the most overrated prospect in the game as well as the most underrated prospect are both in the Cubs' system. When did the Cubs acquire Buxton? Lindor
  10. If anyone wants Jokisch, they can have him. I'm not worried about him being taken. He's like 10th on our SP depth chart even before we add more this offseason.
  11. He's going to be the best of them all.
  12. I assumed it was OK because that rule has never seemed to be enforced. But Tim said it wasn't OK so I removed the offending sentence and spent an appropriate amount of time in silent contrition in a penalty box of my own construction. The bench in the box is unpadded. On-topic if anyone sees new posts and opens the thread: Armando Rivero at Iowa: 21.1 IP, 10 BB, 1 HR, 32 K. He's going to be Marmol 2.0
  13. I would be very happy if Junior Lake was far, far away from the 25-man roster next year.
  14. Really good defensively, making a reasonable amount of contact. .288 BABIP is probably a smidge low for his skill set. But he's not going to hit for huge average. He's going to draw walks, hit for average power, run the bases well, and play good defense. seems to be some debate as to just how good he is defensively in cf The fact that he's playing CF at all makes him good defensively. Also, he's good out there.

  16. Yeah this Ramirez guy and his 1.26 ERA sucks. OK?
  17. Wasn't bad. The two balls he didn't swing at were wild pitches, so darn good thing he didn't swing at them. One of the foul balls was crushed, but way out in front.
  18. I really, really hope 2015 is the year we put guys like Olt in their proper role and fill out the roster above them with competent players. No more "well, let's give him 200 MLB PAs because who cares if we win or lose?"
  19. Sure. That's basically replacement level. I can buy him as a replacement level 1b/3b guy who spends most of his time at Iowa but sometimes appears on the MLB roster.
  20. Dammit Len, don't use LD% to try to justify BABIP variance on the broadcast. Now it will never go away.
