I don't care about the mechanical changes so much as the fact that he's actually going to be on the roster and appears to have passed Lake on the depth chart. The chance that he puts up positive WAR this year puts him ahead of some rando A-ball guy or recent 4th-round pick.

Went outside to see if the ineptly built container garden bed I put up yesterday was still standing. Surprised that it was. Planted broccoli and carrots, knowing full well that the mechanisms of fate hate me and will not allow anything to grow. Going to idly clean the house for a couple of hours, taking many breaks to stop and check the internet, then pick up my son from his mom's around 4. When we get home, I've got two hours to find something that will keep him quietly entertained during the game.

I can't say that's not the five best candidates, but what a weird way to configure a 5-man bench.
