  1. I was promised dongs. Where are all the dongs?
  2. If we're counting his almost home runs, then that goes down as an almost CS.
  3. That's probably what is happening here. Our 25-year-old who has done nothing but suck for years did some kind of vague "adjustment" and now he's awesome. the payoff is great enough that it is worth seeing if that's what is happening to the two sport late bloomer, you [expletive] piece of garbage You wouldn't be getting this upset about it if you didn't know I was (probably) right.
  4. That's probably what is happening here. Our 25-year-old who has done nothing but suck for years did some kind of vague "adjustment" and now he's awesome, as evidenced by a couple of fly outs (and now a BB! and a SB!)
  5. hasn't szczur hit two balls to the warning track? In a more hitter-friendly environment than a warm, crisp day at Coors Field, he'd have two HRs.
  6. Because Szczur misplayed one ball? Because he was perpetually bad in the minor leagues but somehow kept getting promoted by flukes and fate. *@#%%@
  7. This Rockies pitcher is the dirtbag Rob Lowe version of Jeff Samardzija.
  8. I wonder if maybe part of the offense's problem is all the stupid days off. We're playing on an NHL schedule for the last 10 days.
  9. We're pretty good but not great, and there's three other teams that fit that exact description in our division. So yep, anything could happen.
  10. Theo throwing a bad pitch on purpose? Definitely in character.
  11. And the White Sox 0-3 is fun because i don't understand all of the talk about how improved they'd be. Their offseason was definitely nice, but the overall impact/result has been really overstated. I am definitely enjoying that one. I spend too much time listening to Chicago sports radio. I don't expect them to be super saber-savvy, but you'd think it'd phase them at least a little that all the projection systems think their team sucks. Same goes for Reds and Brewers fans.
  12. Pittsburgh starting 0-3 helps our playoff chances more than Cincinnati starting 3-0 hurts them.
  13. That was never any debate I was a part of.
  14. I watch every bit as much hockey as anybody here. I'm just capable of not being a homer about it. Ask fans of 29 other teams who the dirtiest Hawks are, and they'll tell you Carcillo and Keith. But they're all just wrong and we're the objective ones... The "oh man, you must not watch the games if you disagree with me" argument is one of the worst, dumbest facets of hockey fandom.
  15. 1) a high shoulder isn't in the same universe as an elbow to the head 2) I bet you 8 million imaginary internet dollars that Sedin would reference something Keith did before that as his excuse for being a dirty little tool. 3) Two wrongs still don't make a right
  16. I guess you didn't take kindergarten where they taught that two wrongs don't make a right? That's what dirty players always do. They have some previous slight they use to justify it. It's a never-ending circle of retribution.
  17. I had no idea the definition of "tool" precluded players with skill.
  18. The point being most of these guys Shaw, Carcillo, Reaves, Ott are players who don't contribute much on offense or defense they just go around looking to take someone's head off. Keith is a 2x Norris winner and future HOF'er. And no Keith is not a cheap-shotting [expletive] of the highest order. Not even close Intentionally went after another's team's skill player with an elbow to the head to try to take him out. One of the dirtiest plays I've ever seen a Hawk perpetuate.
  19. *especially* Keith. He's a cheap-shotting [expletive] of the highest order.
  20. That team is full of so many tools. Reaves, Jackman, Ott, their fat ass coach has them burned out by the playoffs every year. I think if they finish first Minnesota will knock them out so Reaves can wait another year for his revenge. Funny thing is they probably think we have so many tools between Seabrook, Shaw, Keith, Carcillo, etc Well, they're right about Shaw and Carcillo. And Keith.
  21. or maybe because he's only going to play there regularly for a few weeks (hides from tim) I kinda want that because I don't trust Coghlan's bat or Olt's, but Bryant/Olt is way better defensively than Coghlan/Bryant. Coghlan is forcing me to root for a scenario in which either Olt or La Stella is one of our starters, and I hate him for that too.
  22. This team can dong fight with anyone, anywhere, anytime.
