    Now that I've had some time for perspective, I'm willing to nervously chalk up Trubisky's deer-headlights routine as a bad game that could happen to anyone. But the defense getting absolutely shredded effortlessly is still pretty scary.

    Like, if my only goal is to maximize the chances the Cubs win the World Series by some tiny percentage, then yes, we want the worst teams in. But I'd rather lose to the Dodgers every year for a decade in the playoffs than risk losing to the Cardinals or Brewers.

    not if that 2nd half defense becomes the norm. On two of the TD passes Packers lineman were nearly ripping the jersey of the Bears defenders, when the offensive line is allowed to hold like that all night don't know what you can do. This is exactly the kind of things fans of loser teams tell themselves.

    This division isn't going to give you moral victories, and we're all bored with 6-10 "But we were in every game!" seasons.

    Defense had the same problem with giving up huge plays last year.

    In *this* division, this team doesn't ever see over .500 after a loss like that. The defense will win them 6 or 7 games, I guess.
