  1. My memory was exaggerating slightly. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/archive/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=52078&start=4675#p2081342 But also it appears he swayed me with his sexy, sexy logic.
  2. Any pleb can appreciate Khalil Greene references, but I still think Jake Peavy is the superior Meph meme. He had math that proved that on average, trading for Jake Peavy would add two extra championships to the Cubs over five years.
  3. I see by your surprise that you have wisely avoided Cubs Twitter. Bryce Harper is a very polarizing player for non value related reasons.....my guess is a good majority of the twitter crowd who dont want Bryce are made up of people who have decided they dont like him. I dont think this site has a lot of those types of people. This site is more of reason based debate(better than most of the internet anyway). So I can see why someone is surprised the discussion is going on here There's also always a backlash against the truly great players, unless they win a bunch of championships to override it. Because wanting Bryce Harper because he's really good at baseball is an easy opinion that any pleb can have, but it takes a true sophisticate to jock for Tommy La Stella.
  4. They look pretty mediocre to me, but who knows. Better than last year.
  5. Those were the same people who didn't want to try to compete in 2016 because the *real* window wouldn't open up until 2020 or something.
  6. Really curious about Blackhawks versus Ducks game. Anaheim is 5-3-1 but is the worst team by shot differential by an insanely large margin.
  7. he had a 50% completion percentage, 2 picks and 2 more shoulda been picks. Correct. And in his *bad* game, against Belichick, he was still responsible for 400 yards and more TDs than turnovers. It doesn't matter though because Mack is permanently broken and everything is ruined forever.
  8. Trubisky has a 97.1 QB rating. Combined passing and rushing he produced 414 yards and 3 TDs yesterday. Some of you don't deserve Mitch and should go back to the Moses Moreno days.
  9. Yeah, sorry. I mean, yes, on some level it is nice that they're worth worrying about. But losing in a year where you burned multiple first-round picks and a year of Trubisky's rookie contract is a really bad thing.
  10. Until Mack shows that he is healthy and effective, every game is suspect.
  11. All he had to do was take a split-second to set his feet and he probably nails that throw. He's been back to the happy feet in this game.
  12. Not saying they shouldn't have made the trade, but the NFL ages you fast and anyone thinking Mack was "young" at 27 was fooling themselves. This was always a risk.
  13. Who is 22 on special teams and can we cut him immediately? Like before the next kickoff?
  14. A ref crew being 9th of 17 in penalties is the least interesting graphic ever created.
  15. I was 10 minutes late turning on the game and the defense is already being torched. Usually they wait till the second half.
  16. [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]
  17. Made by known lunatics and randos. I don’t have an up to date spreadsheet on the known lunatics You know that old saying about not seeing a sucker at the poker table?
  18. They'd probably still be toward the bottom, but don't forget those are raw totals and Bears are one of four teams to only play five games.
  19. How does sign-stealing help you strike out more hitters?
  20. I've come around on the idea that the Brewers are the best team in the NL and deserve this.
  21. Dude threw for 300+ yards, 3 TDs, 70% completion rate and more than 10 yards per attempt. He is now 7th in the league in QB rating. He was awesome and he is awesome.
  22. I know it's hard to think about when the loss was so frustrating, but Mitchell Trubisky is becoming really good at football.
  23. Half poor conditioning, half Mack hurt his ankle and was completely ineffective afterwards. Without Mack's pressure, the rest of the D falls apart fast.
  24. Huh? He had a couple of bad throws/decisions but ended with a 122 passer rating. Hes hardly the reason the Bears lost. I don’t think he was bad but Nagy still didn’t trust him to make plays with the game on the line He trusted him to make plays with the game on the line *repeatedly*. And he came through.
