  1. And I'm not seeing what you have to gain by giving up even a small percentage of whatever chance remains? Just to stick it to Huet?
  2. There's a reason Crawford was an AHL goalie. I'm not saying Huet is good. But this is like the "should we call up Vitters" threads. Yeah, I know. I'm just talking about for today and Game 5. What can it hurt to start Crawford? Except to embarass Tallon? The series isn't over. There's no reason to throw away your best shot this year, even though it's a slim shot.
  3. He had a good game 3 and finally didn't have Lidstrom on him. Weird.

  5. Try to get him sharp for the game 5. Discouraging as it is, this series is not over, and whatever sliver of a chance you have is gone if Crawford is your goalie. Really? Is Huet better than Crawford right now? I don't think so. Well, it depends. Huet today? No, Crawford is better. But Huet isn't always this bad. Hot Huet would be better than hot Crawford, and hot Huet is our only shot.

  7. Which game thread is worse? Well, here we're talking about how the Wings take dives, and over there we're talking about how the Cubs are going to get booed when they come home tomorrow. Either way, this is sports hell. England beat the crap out of West Indies this morning, and I was able to get up early and watch it. It helps to throw a really wide net in sports fandom, so you always have somethign :)
  8. It's going to suck so bad when the Blackhawks are out and there's nothing to ignore the Cubs in favor of. Maybe the Ashes.
  9. Taking all kinds of risks now. Expect the Hawks to look good the rest of the game, but give up a lot of odd-man rushes the other way.
  10. Thank you for your incredible, insightful contribution. We are all better for having read it.
  11. who cares? the series is over. at this point it doesnt matter. detroit was getting all the calls due to their whining to the media about the 5 minute pp and was up by 3 already. might as well even the score. The series wasn't over then. This team can come back from down three goals in a game. It's still not "over." It's pretty darn close, but three in a row isn't impossible. At least this game is closing in on "fun bad" territory.
  12. 5-on-3 for a full 2 minutes because of the stupid "get in a guy's face for no good reason after the whistle" move.
  13. Dale Tallon has made a lot of great moves, but this one might end up being his legacy. And his ticket out the door, probably sometime mid next season. That and $7 million per year for a PP defenseman right before the cap shrank.
  14. It'd be nice to see a replay. CBC still hasn't given one.
  15. If the Hawks lose this series, you'll hear a whole lot of 'Oh well, we'll be back.' Maybe we will. But it's not a given, and Huet being so mismatched to our style of play is a big reason.
  16. But he didn't do it there, regardless of his reputation. He just lowered a shoulder into Kane's chest.
  17. There were a few seconds left in the period. It was unnecessary, especially since the target was little Patty. The clock is running, a player has the puck and is skating up the ice, and that's not a perfectly normal time to throw a check? he constantly goes for headshots, which shows a lack of respect for the players and the game. he is the type of hitter that NHLPA wants to get rid of, and with good reason. That wasn't a head shot.

  19. Stand up for Kane for what? It was a completely clean hit during the flow of play that Kane saw coming and dodged most of.
  20. Not playing badly at all. Pretty awful luck to be down 0-2.
