As the public relations coordinator for the American Association of Endodontists (dentists who specialize in root canals), I must stop you for that statement. Modern root canal treatment is virtually painless as endodontists employ expertise in anesthesia and modern instrumentation that cause little discomfort and can complete treatment in one visit. The myth that root canals hurt has been perpetuated through stereotypes that no longer exist. You know, like the fact that Neifi is a solid hitter. Whew. Now I feel better about posting at work, because I'm kinda doing my job now! I had one last summer and it was pianful as a mofo.I had one a year or so ago, it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't painless. Now tooth extaction, that was relatively painless...as my former wisdom teeth will attest. tof: i almost think you have to be kidding, it reaaly should be the other way around.
