  1. 5-0 royals in the first. i hope the home fans there are rubbing it in their fat, smug, red faces.
  2. you think they would've said something by now if they were going to say anything. selig is a piece of garbage.
  3. would be a good time for a CG, carlos.
  4. another inning from marmol would've been nice
  5. the only question the hancocks should have is whether or not the truck driver followed the rules properly. if the only way to get that info is by suing everyone, naming them publicly, and making them spend money on legal defense then the system sucks.
  6. let me first say that i've read and respect the legal opinions, and appreciate having them here on the board. he may have a legal basis to sue, but all the rest of us end up paying for it. the disabled driver will have to hire a lwayer, probably have to come up with evidence to prove his car was fit for the road. if the identity of either driver is revealed, that could have serious repercussions for them as they live in stl. lots of money will be spent by the insurance co's and the state on legal fees, which will be passed on to others indirectly. you know josh wont come out of this looking anybetter. was there marijuana in his system? lets dig up the body and find out.how does this hancock sr look himself in the face everyday after this? edit: i just RTFA. the drivers are named here. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-hancock-lawsuit&prov=ap&type=lgns
  7. ok i dont want to read 21 pages. recap please?
  8. can he be sent to the minors, or does he have to go with the big league club?
  9. he had some rough outings in kc. hopefully he stinks in STL
  10. wasnt this after some kids were kicked out of school for a fight at a HS football game? iirc there was a video of the victims starting a large brawl.
  11. cubs just doing the CYA thing, nothing more
  12. David Wright? I think Wright came up as a comp for Vitters, although he's probably not quite the player Wright is. no defense so a ceiling of aramis with a little less power? if so i'll take it.
  13. wow. that was a real lollipop. maybe the wind was blowing in and he was trying to get some air under it?
  14. why do i have the feeling we'll pick incorrectly? if we could get that from a young catcher....
  15. i think there's already a thread on that. you know he's thinking "strikes out too much to be a 2-4 hitter". :?
  16. i cant find this on mlb.tv mosaic. anyone else?
  17. I guess he couldn't afford it after that whopping $500 fine LaRussa laid on him for showing up late, hungover, and unable to pitch last Thursday after his first accident. Keep in mind that the cops did not think he was drunk when he got into his accident on Thursday morning. Also, there are no reports he was at any strip club. if he was at that neighborhood at 5:30 AM, then the strip club(s) was the safest and most legal place(s) he could have been. Hancock says he usually goes out to drive late at night to get himself tired enough to rest. I know that sounds as implausible to you as it does to me, but that's what he said to the cops. Why drive in that specific area to "get himself tired?" I bet he lived nowhere close to the land of Strip Joints. The cops were probably Cardinal fans and gave him a pass. I live here, and I feel safe in saying that no one, and I mean no one, just "goes for a drive" in that part of town. I'm not saying anything else...just that I wouldn't buy a "i'm out for a drive" story at 5:30 in the morning there...in fact, if I were a cop I'd from then on assume the guy was full of it. I'll second that. I thought I read somewhere that he was at Pop's. Are they open that late? Hell, are the strip joints even open that late? I'm too old for that madness. Pops is open 24/7: it's part of the advertising. (Seriously) I don't know about the strip clubs. they cant sever liquor after 3 though, right? 24/7? thats insane

  20. I heard one report say the tow truck was in the left lane, and then I heard another say it was on the shoulder. But then if there aren't any shoulders it can't be true I guess. Anyway, my understanding is if you block a traffic lane on a highway you must put cones or flares out immediately. Maybe that's not the case in Missouri? I can't imagine traveling 70 MPH and realizing too late someone is blocking the lane. Seems way to dangerous to me -- but then again, I don't know the facts about what really happened here. the radio reports (KMOX) i've heard have always said the truck was in the left lane, but i believe the stalled car was also in the left lane. i guess a truck with flashing lights is better than a stalled car with no lights. maybe the driver didnt have time to set up the other safety/warning items. iirc 40 curves a little to the right at that point right before the grand exit going west, so an obstruction in the left lane would be shielded a bit to west bound drivers. This seems to be the only logical explanation - the police just hadn't arrived yet. Very dangerous situation obviously. How does a tow truck arrive before police? Was he just roaming that stretch of land anticipating accidents? thats the part that doesnt make sense. but the truck was behind the stalled vehicle, not where it needs to be to set up a tow. the guy on the radio said it pulled up behind the stalled vehicle to shield it from traffic, which makes me think he was early and just waiting on patrol car or whatever.
