    the media makes a big deal about any sort of switching the 9th inning guy. it would be a circus if this were to happen. then lou and demp have to anwer a bunch of questions every day about it, demp may lose confidence (may/may not be important). guys with the "closer" label tend to get more money than other lights out bp guys. i dont know when marmol is arby eligible but being a closer may get him more cash. so in short, it aint broke so dont fix it.

    if we get renteria, fontenot ( or was it theriot) should be able to give him an elbow to the face at full speed just to put that behind us. otherwise we'll have to wait until the season to put one into his ribs at 95mph.

    yeah, we were able to take the players off the board. the quitter was trying to help the league by leaving. it took some explaining for them to understand that releasing the players to the other guys in the league could never be fair.

Well I wonder if you will hear them doing a mea culpa. I'll bet you there are scores of us who thought the same thing though...with such a small turnover in talent from year to year, it was extremely hard to believe that the Sox could go from a 90 win team to a 70 win team...That said, I love every word of it, and will gladly eat crow! there were quite a few on the board predicting this. think of all the career years on the pitching staff that year.

    no, its not. we were uneven bcuz our managr is an idiot. we had bye weeks, but not the same # of them. sounds like we'll just remove the players from the league for good.

    theres an idea. they were going to allow draft in reverse order of original draft, before the first game. how would burying the deadbeats players hurt the league?

    if a guy wants to leave after the draft, how can it be done fairly? there already was an odd # of teams, so he's bowing out to make head to head scheduling easier. my concern is the players on that team. the league wants to make them available in reverse order of draft, to me this is not fair. someone would be getting another first or second round talent while others get 9 or 10th round talent. anything wrong with my concern here? is there a better way to handle this? any help is appreciated

    So you want Dempster going 2 innings last night in a tie game and Marmol coming in to face the 9-1-2 hitters with a 2 run lead? Does anybody really want to see Dempster with the game on the line? Lous been bringing Marmol in crucial situations. Coming in the 9th with no runners on with a lead is alot easier than coming in with runners on in a tie game in the 7th or 8th. Its risky bringing Dempster in with runners on because he walks too many. Len said last night that Marmol leads the league in % of inherited runners stranded. something like 2/32 scored. thats amazing. thats not what i want dempster doing, let him pitch with the bases empty.

    I can't wait to go check out the meltdown and "FIRE YOST!!!" posts in the Brewers forums after this one's over. (hoping the reversal of fortune stands in our favor) It's true. Yost is completely clueless on how to handle a pitching staff. It's really sad. it seems linebrink has been awful as a brewer. anone have stats?
