  1. This one isn't even close. I love Wrigley Field and the whole experience there, but the majority of the Cub games I attend are not at Wrigley anyways.
  2. I haven't ever been to PNC, so I couldn't include it.
  3. Five teams?!?! Isn't that a little small?
  4. There is no way to truly pick from these three. But, I think I'm going to have to go with da kent. He is the mega-god...Dunn and Len sit at his right and left hand.
  5. If they can get him on the cheap, and get something of value for Walker, I'd be much more satisfied with the 2B depth chart of Vidro, Hairston, Perez, instead of Hairston, Perez. Bowden seems to like moving players out of position and Walker has indicated he'd play leftfield. If we could trade Walker + Welly + lower level prospect for Vidro, I'd do that deal. While I think Walker would have some adventures in left, that would be Washington's problems, not ours.
  6. I've been to the following parks, so these are the ones I can rate: Wrigley, Fenway, Turner Field, Bank One Ballpark (now Chase Park), Ameriquest Field in Arlington, Camden Yards, Minute Maid Park, Busch (now demolished), US Cellular, Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium (no more), Veterans Stadium (no more), Arlington Stadium (no more), and Astrodome (no more). I'd give a tie to Wrigley and Fenway at the top of the list. Both were awesome. Secondly, I think Ameriquest Field would come in third on my list. It's a beautiful yard and while it has nice amenities, they don't seem to be overdone. There's a lot of variety through the seating areas. It also has the best food of any park that I've been to. The only drawback that I have is that during the summer, the heat at game times can be unbearable. Number four on my list would be Camden Yards. I thought they did a good job there. The fifth park on my list would be Bank One. I really liked thay one as well, even with the cheesy pool behind the outfield wall.
  7. Gammons has some interesting comments on the Soriano situation in his blog today. Link First of all, it doesn't appear that Soriano is any more agreeable to a position switich now than he has been all winter. I found this statement shocking, and it further shows how delusional Bowden is:  Newsflash to Bowden...."It will take a lot more than Soriano to net Adam Dunn." But for those who clamor for Soriano, yet discount Walker because of his defense, read this: That's not a player we need, especially if it's going to cost us Murton.
  8. I'd take Eaton over Rusch.
  9. When does all-star voting start? Better get going Vance! I'll be on top of it again this year.
  10. I think it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Are you trying to put together a predicted 2006 NL-C all star team by the position they are going to play this year? Or are you trying to put together the best possible team using players form the NL-C at positions where they are capable of playing? Both are valid questions. When you vote for "All Stars", you vote for the best at each position, don't you? Based on that, it HAS to be Pujols at first base. Depends on if I go by career or last season's numbers. Based on last season, Lee has just as much claim to firstbase as Pujols on this list.
  11. It's not plain and it's not simple. Murton will likely out produce Hairston in every offensive metric. While Soriano would out slug Walker likely, his OBP would likely be 20-40 points lower. The overall effect on the team would likely be neutral. Trading Murton to net Soriano is plain foolishness. In all likelihood, the offense would be similar in production while the payroll is 10 million higher and you lose the future player in Murton while watching Soriano walk in the offseason. It's a shortsighted move that adds little or nothing to the overall production of the team.
  12. That's not good news for the Reds. Krivsky really has his work cut out for him.
  13. To be fair, I forgot Dunn was moving to 1B. To be fair, I didn't care that he was moving to first. :P
  14. Within the next two years? SS Stephen Drew, Diamondbacks SS Brandon Wood, Angels 2B Howie Kendrick, Angels OF Carlos Quentin, Diamondbacks RHP Chad Billingsley, Dodgers LHP Jon Lester, Red Sox I'd probably also add Nieve from Houston. He could be competing with Hirsch for a spot in the rotation. Also a lot of people seem to think Alex Gordon 3B, KC, may not be far away from being ready as well.
  15. How do you explain Glenallen Hill, circa 98-00? That was before Jim liked guys who can catch the ball.
  16. That's what I was thinking. Thye likely believe that while he could handle the bat, he likely isn't in physical condition to play in the field which he would have to do for an NL team.
  17. I did look at the numbers for 2000, and I don't see Thomas better. Both had 43 homeruns. Thomas led Giambi by 6 RBI, 143 to 137. However, Giambi had a higher batting average (333 to 328), a higher on-base percentage (476 to 436) and a higher slugging percentage (647 to 625). Regardless of your feelings about Giambi, he deserved the award over Thomas that season.
  18. Not as bad as when Joe Carter kept discussing how bad it was that Delino was stuck in the a-hole.
  19. It's hard not to love Dempster. The guy has a great demeanor and is a good personality. I can forsee him having Izzy-like success in the closer role.
  20. There's no way that Jeter is better that Rodriguez. Just because you don't like a player doesn't devalue his ability.
  21. I'd tell my kids about Alphonseca, but I can't say his name without turning the middle syllable into a profanity.
  22. I had a no eye-liner rule for my team.
  23. I'll be sure to tell my kids about Dunn.
  24. Sheets played at the university here in Monroe, so I'm biased toward him.
  25. I like Zambrano, but if you're talking about a life time of sex with the Dahm sisters...that would be pretty hard to pass up.
