  1. Or you could just run up a big credit card bill.
  2. According to this article, Clemens is still undecided. Link Those quotes don't sound like someone who's all that eager to get back at it.
  3. I'm not one who boos the hometeam, but jones's whining about it isn't really endearing himself to anyone.
  4. Not on your life. Just coming to this thread. Jimy sure is cocky these days. Amazing to see that kind of attitude. Makes sense coming from somebody who can't spell Buchholz. Buchholz looks good but he's a rookie with a strange track record. Wandy, Nieve and Astacio still scare the hell out of me. Back to the top 3 of the rotation. Mussina is not anywhere near as good as Oswalt. Mussina has become a league average pitcher. In fact, I'd take Oswalt over Mussina in his prime. In five seasons, Oswalt has four years with an ERA+ above 140 and his numbers this year are as good as ever. I have no idea how good Johnson will be. He had a phenomenal year in 2004 sandwiched between two mortal years. Is age catching up to him? Beats me. Pettitte is eight years younger. I have no idea how good Pettitte will be. Given the ERA+ for both of these guys over the last three season, I don't know how somebody could definitively pick one over the other this year. Given the huge discrepency between Mussina and Oswalt, I'm not sure how Mussina, Johnson, Clemens > Oswalt, Pettitte, Clemens. As much as the media might lead you to think that Roger is twice as good when he wears pinstripes, I don't think that would be enough to tilt the scales. I will agree that Mussina, Johnson, Clemens is not better than Oswalt, Pettitte and Clemens. But Clemens does make the Yankees more of a contender than the Astros, simply because the Yankees line-up is just that much better.
  5. Let's not make too much out of Neifi not signing. Yes, the streak of being shut out has now hit 14 games, but there's been other players as well that don't always sign. I also may just be catching him on a bad day.
  6. I put this in another thread, but when I asked Ryan if he still had the Captain America suit, he answered "You betcha!"
  7. It's always relevant.
  8. I've returned to Louisiana, so I got nothing on this one.
  9. The numbers just aren't there. He'd have to have a couple more really good seasons to warrant serious consideration.
  10. I will say this about the new stadium, it beats the hell out of MMP.
  11. I heard from one person that they are awaiting approval from the inspectors or something like that.
  12. Hey...I got that Santo auto I told you I'd get!
  13. I should have asked Dusty if he'd agree to a Q&A, huh?
  14. I wish he could find a rod of +2 intelligence. LOL! What's sad is I got that reference.
  15. That he does. He's always very personable.
  16. Pact with the devil? Not really, but Dusty was really nice and classy to me this weekend. I feel I owe him that much. :D
  17. I've sworn an oath not to criticize Dusty for at least a week.
  18. Actually, Ron Santo said that during yesterday's game. Well, I didn't hear Santo...but I heard it this morning as I was having some discussions outside the stadium.
  19. So did you laugh loudly in the Ozzie Smith suite during every swinging strike? :D I wasn't in the Ozzie suite today...that was yesterday. Today was section 250...I'll try to post some pics if they come out. I forgot the digital camera, so I had a disposable one. I'll get the pics developed and then see if they came out ok. I was in awe at how Maddux set up the hitters. Busted Edmonds inside on two pitches, then set up outside. Edmonds fouled it off...Barrett moved another three inches and set up what must have been a foot outside...and Edmonds flailed away!
  20. TLR is known for this crap. I love it when he whined that Cox banters the umpires into getting calls between innings when he does the exact same thing. Maddux was toying with the hitters today.
