  1. Uh, don't they normally not going into that much detail when it's an injury to a sensitive area? Wouldn't "groin injury" have sufficed? Nope. If they had said groin injury, it would have led most to believe an injury involving the groin muscles. This is a nut injury.
  2. Is this implying that Wood will be a Cub next season?
  3. Wow...I had that same reaction a few pages back!
  4. You're strong enough at RB to make the trade, so I'd do it if he will. Getting Bulger will help you more than losing the RB.
  5. Congrats, Scott. If he could learn to handly SS, his value as a prospect would skyrocket.
  6. Cool!
  7. Go Cowboys!
  8. Draft complete. Now, we await the results being entered so we can complete our teams and start trading!
  9. Thanks guys. I got to see Sonnanstine pitch, though he took a 2-1 loss. I also got signed balls by Longoria, Nieman, and Brignac. Also, pitching coach Xavier Hernandez signed a card for me. I also took home a Tim Hudson signed jersey that I purchased during the silent auction for an incredibly low price.
  10. Imb, When will you enter the draft so that we can finish filling out our rosters? I believe the first game is Thursday.
  11. I'm going to see the Mississippi Braves play the Montgomery Biscuits tonight. I know of Nieman and Longoria. Who else is supposed to be a good prospect on the Biscuits?
  12. I think knowing Nevin had the third best OPS on the team is just further indication of how bad this team is.
  13. He's the linebackers coach and based on pre-season performance, he's getting a lot out of his unit. Brady James speaks very highly of him. I always thought he would make a fantastic assistant coach. He's quite the workaholic and he definately knows the linebacker postion. Thanks. One of my colleagues taught Brady James in middle school, and the two are still close. I'll see if I can get some more information for you. Watch a Cowboys game, and you'll see the linebackers are the backbone of that defensive unit. Of course when you have James, Ware, and Ellis to work with along with Carpenter on the second string, it's not hard to coach them into a good unit.
  14. I just don't get that...didn't he sign the original deal? He's going to be a free agent next season anyway. Sitting out does nothing but hurt him. Well, that's the point. He plans on sitting out except for the last six games so that he'll still be a FA, but the Pats won't have him for the bulk of the season.
  15. Hopefully the Cubs aren't down 10-2 by the time I get to tune in.

  17. Branch has reached separate deals with both the Jets and the Seahawks. If one of those teams can meet New England's demands, a trade could happen. Link This part right now is the kicker. There's lots of speculation that New England would rather send him to the Seahawks instead of the Jets, but the asking price is pretty high. This situation could be at an impasse'.
  18. Is it possible to lose all 29?
  19. I like the idea of getting Sheffield. I'd prefer that getting him would push Jones to CF however. Signing Durham is interesting. It's not a bad move at the right price. I'd prefer to pursue a trade for Giles first. The Cubs have a lot of internal options for the rotation. Other than signing Schmidt or Zito, I don't see the need to go get pitching. I don't advocate letting Ramirez walk at all. If he walks, I'd almost think we should focus on rebuilding rather than picking up Sheffield, Durham, Mussina types.
  20. I normally only compete in one. I broke down and decided to compete in a second one. We'll see how conflicted this causes me to get on Sundays.
  21. Most pitchers for the Cubs skip the hip altogether and head straight to shoulder surgery.
  22. If true, I think Outshined and I deserve kudos for calling it. Vance was pretty vocal in his belief that Mulder's hip injury would hurt him in the long run as well. That I was.
