  1. Thursday means it's time for me to make my picks. I did a little better in week two than week one, and here we go keeping in mind these picks are for recreational purposes only. Washington (-4) at Houston. Washington is in a 0-2 hole and last place in the NFC East. They should get Portis back for this game, and Houston has looked atrocious. The Redskins will cover the spread easily. This is my lock of the week;I'll take Washington (-4). NY Jets (+5.5) at Buffalo. Neither of these teams impress me. Buffalo is at home. I smell upset here. Give me Jets (+5.5). Jacksonville (+7) at Indianapolis. How good are the Jags this year? They've beaten both Pittsburgh and Dallas, and now they take to the road to face the Colts. I have a feeling this will be a close game. I think it will be won by a field goal, which isn't enough to cover the points. Give me Jaguars (+7). Green Bay (+7) at Detroit. The Packers are probably the worst team in the NFL. Detoit should win this one by ten. Give em Lions (-7). Cincinnat (+2) at Pittsburgh. Something didn't look right with Rothlisberger on Monday night, and contrary to popular opinion, I think the Bengals were actually the better team last year too. I'll take Cincinnatti (+2). Tennesee (+10.5) at Miami. Dolphins win the game by a touchdown. Titans cover the spread. Titans (+10.5) Chicago (-3) at Minnesota. The Vikings are looking good this year. The Bears, however, are looking dominating. Give me Chicago (-3). Carolina (-3) at Tampa Bay. Both of these teams have looked pathetic early on. Tampa is at home and a three point underdog. I like the home team in match-ups like this, especially when taking the hometeam follows the points. Buccaneers (+3). Baltimore (-6.5) at Cleveland. Cleveland will eventually win a game. It won't happen this week. Ravens (-6.5). NY Giants (+3.5) at Seattle. The Giants nearly were blown out by Philadelphia last week, Onle a monumental meltdown by the Eagle defense let them back in the game. I doubt Seattle makes that mistake. Seahawks (-3.5). Philadelphia (-6) over San Francisco. Take the Eagles here with confidence. Philadelphia (-6). St. Louis (+4.5) at Arizona. I like the Cardinals in this match-up. Look for Warner to connect once each to Fitzgerald and Boldin and Edge will add a third TD. Cardinals (-4.5). Denver (+7) at New England. The Patriots may be good. They are not seven points better than the Broncos. Denver (+7). Atlanta (-3.5) at New Orleans. A battle of unbeatens takes place Monday night in the reopening of the Super Dome. Head says Falcons, gut says Saints, Voo Doo magic says something strange will occur Monday night in the Saints' home opener. Going against all odds, give me Saints (+3.5).
  2. I think they would move him, but only if they think the move improves them in the long term and the short term. From what I've been reading, the Blue Jays still hope to get him signed to an extension. My guess is that unless they are overwhelmed with an offer, he would be traded at next year's deadline if at all. He made 4.75 million this year and is tied to the Jays for one more year. His resistance to the Jays offer of an extension has led to the rumors that he could be traded. I think it would cost a productive major leaguer as well as some prospects. The caliber of prospects would depend greatly on the caliber of the major leaguer. I think the Jays would want either Barrett or Murton from the major league roster and then one of Marshall or Marmol. I don't necessarily think this year was a fluke, but I think counting on him to repeat what has been a career year for him would be a little much. I would expect something along the lines of his career numbers, which are good for a CF, but not at the level he's played this year. It would depend on cost as to whether I'd want Wells or Jones. If I could get either for CF, it makes things easier with secondbase.
  3. Never heard that before. Is that why they did the same thing Holtz's first year? I dunno, that was before my time. Also, some Spartan fans would bet their lives that ND flag planted during one of the last two wins in East Lansing(I don't remember which one), but no pictures of it have been found, just accounts from people at the game. Yea I have heard that ND did too. However there is no proof of it, and you would think that there would be. That is not something that is easily missed by cameras. I really think that is just MSU trying to make excuses for why that acted so classless last year. I really hope ND doesn't do that this Saturday after they win. :D Be careful. I read some bold ND predictions last week as well.
  4. Getting Castillo is a good choice if we can answer the lack of slugging somewhere else. If we trade for A. Jones, then signing Castillo makes a lot of sense. If we bring back Pierre, getting Castillo would likely not be a good move.
  5. just a little fyi I will continue to not respond to your personal attacks(well I guess this time doesn't count :P ). You have been at this for a while now with me. Keep at it if you wish. I actually kinda get a kick out of it to be honest. Obviously I am getting under your skin. I just don't intend to get into a pissing match with anyone. It's pointless. I may a generic quote about human nature and you assume I'm attacking you? I wonder why that is... :-k because you hate yourself You are so right.
  6. I definitely wouldn't mind Durham, but I do find it ironic that Walker likely fits the need for this club at second. I still think Soriano is the best option.

  8. you forget the PC disclaimer "Not that there is anything wrong with that" but I assure you I was refering to the short italian gal with perfect breasts i'm pretty sure she's hispanic yep, she is of mexican descent. http://www.shanghaiist.com/attachments/shang_dan/The_More_You_Know.jpg and does she really have perfect breasts. Now, Keeley Hazell...those are perfect breasts!
  9. Is Kent a free agent or would you try to trade for him? I havent heard anything about him being a FA, but if thats the case I think he'd be an amazing pickup. If he could produce the numbers of any the 9 seasons previous to this year, along with us adding someone like Jones or Wells for CF, or someone like Tejada at SS, then I think we'd have one of the top 3 linesups in the league. I was under the impression that Kent would be a FA; I have read since that he signed an extension in spring training. If he has, then he's not an option.
  10. I'll take a look and get back with you.
  11. Sometimes, people have to point out in others what they loathe in themselves.
  12. Do you have to take a personal shot at somebody with every single post? who cares..the guy beat his wife. Thats a fact. he is scum and I have no respect for him. I'm sure he's broken up over that fact as well.
  13. If I'm remembering correctly, the run expectancy is better with choice two.
  14. I'm hoping he will take off his panties and pitch in 07. Prior says, "You first."
  15. I wouldn't mind Moore as the LHed bat off the bench. My only concern is whether Moore would be better served getting AB's in AAA. However, if Ramirez is extended, using him as a bat off the bench may be the best use of him.
  16. I don't think that gets it done for Wells. My guess is they'd want Barrett and maybe Marmol.
  17. Can we count on the Jaxx to give us a word of reccomendation to the Smokies? So, are you going to change your SN, DJaxx?
  18. Well, the Smokies will still come play the Braves in Mississippi, so I'll get to see them all the same. I did think the Jaxx logo and colors were better though.
  19. I'm looking to trade a TE. I'm willing to part with Gates or Winslow in the right deal. I might even me willing to package another player. I need a QB or maybe an upgrade in RB or WR. If you're interested, let me know.
  20. Marquis' ERA+ this season is 76. While he was above average in 2004-2005, he has a history of being bad, see 2002-2003. While I wouldn't expect him to be this bad in 2007, I'm not sure he gets above a league average ERA+ in 2007. I'd pass on Marquis.
  21. Welcome. No offense, but with that team we'd be lucky to finish third. Dempster is a failed starter. The rest of the rotation is ok, but your betting heavily on Prior being healthy and effective andHill continuing his success. With the line-up you've constructed, the pitching will have to be very good. Izturis is bad. Theriot is a huge risk. The line-up lacks punch and the bench provides little depth. I would be very dissapointed if this were the team we fielded next season.
  22. This thread brought this image to mind. http://www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com/features/images/morse/black.jpg
  23. We really shouldn't be so harsh on Giambi. Having your nuts shrivel to the size of bb's can make a man go crazy.
  24. I see Hunter ending up with the Cardinals or Rangers.
