Thursday means it's time for me to make my picks. I did a little better in week two than week one, and here we go keeping in mind these picks are for recreational purposes only. Washington (-4) at Houston. Washington is in a 0-2 hole and last place in the NFC East. They should get Portis back for this game, and Houston has looked atrocious. The Redskins will cover the spread easily. This is my lock of the week;I'll take Washington (-4). NY Jets (+5.5) at Buffalo. Neither of these teams impress me. Buffalo is at home. I smell upset here. Give me Jets (+5.5). Jacksonville (+7) at Indianapolis. How good are the Jags this year? They've beaten both Pittsburgh and Dallas, and now they take to the road to face the Colts. I have a feeling this will be a close game. I think it will be won by a field goal, which isn't enough to cover the points. Give me Jaguars (+7). Green Bay (+7) at Detroit. The Packers are probably the worst team in the NFL. Detoit should win this one by ten. Give em Lions (-7). Cincinnat (+2) at Pittsburgh. Something didn't look right with Rothlisberger on Monday night, and contrary to popular opinion, I think the Bengals were actually the better team last year too. I'll take Cincinnatti (+2). Tennesee (+10.5) at Miami. Dolphins win the game by a touchdown. Titans cover the spread. Titans (+10.5) Chicago (-3) at Minnesota. The Vikings are looking good this year. The Bears, however, are looking dominating. Give me Chicago (-3). Carolina (-3) at Tampa Bay. Both of these teams have looked pathetic early on. Tampa is at home and a three point underdog. I like the home team in match-ups like this, especially when taking the hometeam follows the points. Buccaneers (+3). Baltimore (-6.5) at Cleveland. Cleveland will eventually win a game. It won't happen this week. Ravens (-6.5). NY Giants (+3.5) at Seattle. The Giants nearly were blown out by Philadelphia last week, Onle a monumental meltdown by the Eagle defense let them back in the game. I doubt Seattle makes that mistake. Seahawks (-3.5). Philadelphia (-6) over San Francisco. Take the Eagles here with confidence. Philadelphia (-6). St. Louis (+4.5) at Arizona. I like the Cardinals in this match-up. Look for Warner to connect once each to Fitzgerald and Boldin and Edge will add a third TD. Cardinals (-4.5). Denver (+7) at New England. The Patriots may be good. They are not seven points better than the Broncos. Denver (+7). Atlanta (-3.5) at New Orleans. A battle of unbeatens takes place Monday night in the reopening of the Super Dome. Head says Falcons, gut says Saints, Voo Doo magic says something strange will occur Monday night in the Saints' home opener. Going against all odds, give me Saints (+3.5).
