    I'm neutral on Rothschild right now. I'm not certain how much Dusty over-ruled him. I'll use this year to form a better opinion.

    I'm the same. I like the grays because that's the traditional road uniform. I like the pinstripes at home. The blue jerseys look like softball jerseys to me.

    Yeah, I was really surprised he lasted to me. Especially with all of us worshipping the ground he walks on, and hits homers on, and strikes out on (three true outcome puns are the best!!!). If this weren't a 5x5 league, I would have grabbed him already. Yeah, his average is going to hurt, but given my lack of HR from 3 of the first 4 picks, I'm gonna have to suck it up and deal with it. He was 80 points under his expected BABIP last year and had a horrible end of the season. Plus hes working with Brook Jacoby who he worked with in the minors when his K rate was manageable and had a 300 average. Can't hurt. We may have to swing a trade when the draft is over.

    Because Helton is very good at baseball. So are Mark Prior and Kerry Wood - and they don't have ridiculous contracts. Edit: Actually Helton's played in a lot more games than I thought. but his back is still horrible. It's not going to suddenly get better. dude's power has really disappeared. With the Red Sox, they value his OBP over his power. They have power with Ortiz and Manny. Drew has some power of his own. While Helton's power has declined, his OBP has remained higher than 400 in every season since 1999.

    After reading that, my guess is DirectTV is willing to make the baseball channel part of its regualr line-up. Cable likely wanted it part of a sports tier. I don't see why cable has become so stubborn in this regard. Since I'm a Direct-TV subscriber, this doesn't affect me.

    I'd rather have a good pitcher :wink: True. My feeling is that if you have a pitcher on a one-year deal who sucks, the team is more willing to DFA him than a pitcher on a three-year deal. If Marquis sucks, but Marshall or Guzman is doing well in Iowa, the Cubs are still likely to stick with Marquis due to the longer financial commitment. If you had a pitcher, ala Weaver, on a one year deal under the same scenario, the team is more willing to cut bait and go with the youngster.

    Add to the fact that the team's primary colors are black and gold and they decide to have a red jersey...it's a bad, bad move.

    I'm watching the senior bowl, but like most all-star type events, the play is sloppy.
