    Extra Innings will not affect local market games. That's part of the reason MLB isn't worried about this deal. It only affects the "superfan" as far as they're concerned.

    What I am going to do is going to be a rough guesstimate based on the info I can get. It's not going to be hard scientific evidence. I'm a language arts guy, not math/science. I always have done a break down on the division....so this is just a tool I'm using as I make my final division breakdowns.

    I'm going with Marquis. First, my guess is that he'll start off on the wrong foot by choosing to wear #21. Then he'll post an ERA of around 5.00 while Guzman or Marshall is doing well in the minors. The combination of that will cause everyone to hate him.

    Bruce, Is Rusch likely out of baseball? Is there a chance he may work with the organization in some capacity? While I didn't want to watch him pitch again, he was genuinely one of the good guys.

    I'm working on my projection piece on the NL Central. I'm working on projecting what I think the players will do and then I want to plug them into a line-up compared to what I think other teams will do before deciding how to rank the NL Central. Oh, I think you'll find the cubs are saftely on top. With the cardinals trailing by several games behind. . Just my cursory view places the Cubs there, but I know have a bias, so I'm trying to check that as I prepare this.

    Garrett is being groomed as the future HC. It's speculated now that Jones will look at a defensive minded coach. Of course, I just got an email that over the last few days Jimmy Johnson has been seen around the ranch and that over the years he and Jones have become friends again. Jimmy needs some extra money eh? After emailing another friend, the word is that Johnson is serving as a consultant to Jones in the search. Nothing seems to be indicating that Johnson will be considered. It would be interesting to see if Jimmy still has what it takes.
