  2. So far, I'm happy, but there's a lot left to do. 1b Pujols SS Young OF Dye SP Zambrano SP Peavy I really like my pitching thus far, and having Pujols to anchor my offense will help. I need to add at least one legitimate SB guy and try to find a sleeper at thirdbase. I have my eye on a couple that might work.
  3. If it's Turner, I think Dallas is in trouble. And I'm suprised. Turner is the safe, blah choice. I didn't think Jones would go that way. I think Garrett is the choice for the future. Jerry is looking for someone who can help groom him. If Turner is the choice, it will be imperative that a strong defensive coordinator be brought on board.
  4. This location works really well for me. My sister-in-law lives about 15 mins from that ballpark. The Lexus seats are expensive, but nice. I'm probably sitting in them regardless, but if enough people wanted seats there, I could go ahead an lock them up through group sales.
  5. I'm bored with this SuperBowl match-up. Bring on baseball.
  6. As most of you know, the Cubs are playing the Rangers in Arlington this year. I've been in touch with a ticket rep and was thinking about buying a block of tickets for the Tuesday night game. I can save about $5 per ticket to do it this way. I'm hoping to get tickets in the Lexus level. The Lexus level seats are $45 regular price. On this level, there is a waiter service to your seats and the aisles are larger than in the regular seating areas. I have to have 20 people to do a group order. I figure I can count for five to six tickets, and if I had another 5-10 people interested, I'd probably do a group order and just unload any extras. So...if any of you are planning to go to these games, contact me in the next few days so I can make a decision.
  7. A league source believes the Cowboys will name a head coach on Wednesday. Link.
  8. I believe that is correct. We've lost our QB coach to the Gnats and the DC to the Falcons, but so far no other defections.
  9. Argh! He was tabbed for one of my wrap-around picks.
  10. By the sounds of it, it's Texas or the highway. How has Sammy done Spring Training wise in his career? If the Rangers felt he needed a month or so to regain his timing, I could see if going on a tempoary assignment to the minors. I don't see him staying there past May 1.
  11. He'd be a better option. Throwing Pie out there would be a better option than Finley.
  12. But he has Finley/Pie in CF for one scenerio and Jones in CF for the other so it doesn't seem that he is thinking of soriano in CF at all. I suppose not that it matters what some writer thinks. He's likely still operating on old information.
  13. How does he become available? Cha ching. Money talks and if the Cowboys want him I'm sure they'll "contact" him and let him know that the money is there for him. If the Bears decide to go on the cheap or in their words a "fair" price they may lose out on Lovie. I know he has a year left in his deal but something may be worked out. I like Lovie and I think he is a very good coach but the Boys may make a very good offer that the Bears my accept. This all depends on 3 things: -Do the Bears lowball Lovie -Is Lovie really interested in going to Dallas -Is Jones willing to pay the picks for Lovie While I think Jones is more than willing to pay the $$ for Lovie, I don't think he's willing to pay with picks. It's not his way. Jones has always believed the talent on the field is more important than the coach. My guess is that after interviewing Singletary, Jones will attempt to hire both Turner and Singletary away from the 49ers. I think his true desire is for Turner to come aboard to groom Garrett and have Singletary run the defense. Garrett and Singletary would give the Cowboys two young talents on each side of the ball and the one who shows the most promise would end up becoming the next coach when Turner steps down.
  14. Looks like I may punt saves.
  15. Looks like this deal is D.O.A. Link.
  16. And the Bonds deal finally gets completed. Link.
  17. For those looking for a sweet jersey, check this out.
  18. Perhaps Jerry Jones just wants to abide by the Rooney Rule? That was what I immediately thought of. They already met the Rooney Rule standard when they interviewed in-house candidate Bowles. A lot of people think that Jones wants to hire Norv as HC and somehow convince the 49ers to let Singletary take the DC position.
  19. Mike Singletary is next to interview for the Cowboys HC positon. Link. This is quite surprising. Most insiders believed the job was down to either Phillips or Turner with Garrett who will be the OC if not head coach a long shot.
  20. It's looking like this deal could fall apart over money issues. Link. Furthermore...
  21. I wish the Cubs would return to these uniforms for the road. http://www.baseballhalloffame.org/exhibits/online_exhibits/dressed_to_the_nines/images/nl_1996_chicago.gif
