  1. Before I get worried, I'll wait and see what happens today. If Prior throws to hitters today, then all is ok. If he doesn't, then there's something to be concerned about.
  2. On Tuesday, the results of the Veterans Committee ballot will be announced. This will be Santo's last chance for the HOF until 2009. On the 2005 ballot, Santo and Gil Hodges both received 52 votes which was eight votes shy of what he needed for election. Phil Rogers writes about all this today. Link. Here's hoping that Santo gets in. I'm not optimistic about that happening.
  3. What's nice about the Cubs pick at three is I'd be happy with either Price, Weiters, or Brackman. Let's hope the Cubs don't blow it and go after Burgess or some toolsy guy like that.
  4. This note from John Clayton makes me believe Russell is the man for the Raiders. Link.
  5. In Sammy's favor, he has one of the best hitting coaches in Jaramillo working with him. If Sammy still has the bat speed (which I've heard from reports, he does) and he listens to Jaramillo and makes the adjustments that Jaramillo suggests, I think he might can have a small resurgence. Ameriquest is a great hitting park. Furthermore, even in Baltimore he had a respectable clip against lefties. If they use Sammy correctly, by sitting him against the tougher right-handers, I could see him his 25-30 homeruns with a 265/330/490 line. That wouldn't be too horrible for a complementary player. Sammy doesn't have to be the big bat in the Rangers line-up. They have Young and Tex to do that. He'll also have Blalock and hopefully a rejuvenated Wilkerson, so Sammy just has to prove he can provide a little spark.
  6. I think I'd rather have Weiters.
  7. I've gotten tickets changed to will call before, so they can change shipping. And I'm pretty sure people have gotten their tickets combined before. Ok. Thanks.
  8. I asked this question earlier, but it may have gotten lost. I paid to have my Sox tickets sent Fed-Ex. I have some others that I just checked mail. Can I call before they start prinitng and arrange to have them all fed-exed together?
  9. When were you in high school? When I was in high school, bleacher tickets were $1.00 Don't ask !!! '[-X' Did your backpacks get heavy from the stone tablets you had to carry around?
  10. I think March 15 is the date for will-call and the date they start mailing out tickets.
  11. Childress said the Vikings would consider taking Quinn with the seventh pick. Link.
  12. I might need a little more power depending on how things develop. My pitching staff is very good, though I lack depth if a starter becomes injured. Saves could be a problem, but if Tankersly and Pinero win the closer's job for their respective teams, I'll be set there as well.
  13. We should just all buy Mills video and then these threads wouldn't be needed.
  14. A little more than double face is what I'm asking, but it's not double what I paid considering the over $4 fee the Cubs charge per ticket. When that's factored in, I'm asking a little under double what I paid, except for the Saturday tickets. I'd like to have the money in hand in the next week or so, so I'm trying to be reasonable. I've gotten a bite on my Sunday set. I've had inquiries on both the Friday and Saturday tickets. No official person saying they would buy. I've sold my home opener tickets and will just be waiting on payment. On another note, I just bought four bleacher seats to the Labor Day game against the Dodgers. I figure I'll either turn a nice profit selling those closer to the date, or I'll be eating a loss on the tickets. I was in a gambling mood.
  15. I think the plan is for Cotts to be the long man and to be stretched out enough that he can take an emergency start if needed. If one of the Cubs starters has a problem where he might need to miss a start, but the Cubs don't want to put anyone on the DL to call up a starter from Iowa, it's helpful to have someone in the pen who is stretched out enough to make the start.
  16. I've had some inquiries on my Sox tix, but I still have some right now. I'm looking to make a little money, unless someone has a place to stay near Wrigley they would offer for four days in late May and a deal might be arranged.
  17. Hey look! It's a newbie!
  18. yeah...whatever.
  19. I imagine ebay has some kind of contractual language with respect to time of delivery expectation on purchased items, but that would probably only be brought up in an extreme case where the seller has greatly exceeded reasonable time lines. It all depends on the buyer, too. If you state they won't be available for delivery until mid-March, then that's the understanding a buyer must assume when committing to the purchase. That's true. You might choose to wait until the tix are in hand, but you could also put a disclaimer that tix will be mailed when you recieve them and give an estimate of that time. I've bought tickets in that fashion.
  20. For those tired of the VWR but still wanting some tickets, I just for the hell of it tried and got right in with no VWR.
  21. It's still possible the broadcast company could spin the Cubs off in a separate deal.
  22. you flipped those sox tix too soon...i'm seeing them going for 150+ a piece...some dude is trying to sell his for 300 a pop...never know, might get it Really? Wow, I wish I would've known. I looked on Ebay this afternoon before I agreed to the 600 dollar price and didn't see anything competitve to that, so I sold them. Either way, as it stands right now, I made a 700 dollar profit today just by spending about an hour online at work. I fully intend to do the same thing next Saturday when Cardinals tickets go on sale. While you might have been able to make more, I don't think you messed up at all. You made a quick profit, don't have to worry about Ebay fees, and will likely have the money sooner.
