  1. Not good: .232/.351/.368 entering tonight's game. Good IsoD, though. That BA and slugging aren't good. The OBP isn't bad.
  2. Dye could be available if the White Sox stumble. Baldelli could also be on the block. Would Seattle make Ichiro available? How about Ibanez? Lofton also could be had from Texas.
  3. If Tex is traded, he has no say in where he plays for at least his year and next. After that, he can do as he pleases. I still don't think it would be a good idea to get him without at least seeing how he'd feel about the move.
  4. How's Scott Moore doing this year?
  5. Actually, I think this is his first bad start in awhile. His last outing he pitched in relief when his normal turn in the rotation was given to Wade Miller for a rehab start. No, he was pretty bad versus Mississippi on Sunday as well. His control was off against the Braves and they were sitting on his fastball.
  6. Why not get into a deal with the DRays. bring back Longoria, Niemann, and anyone of their young outfielders. Longoria was a ss for a while also. D-Rays have a team payroll of $24M this year... Z is making about half that. He's going to want way more than they could hope to pay him, and they're not in contention this year, so there's no reason for a rental. And lastly, they wouldn't trade perhaps the best hitting prospect in baseball for Zambrano, let alone trade him with two other valuable players. Exactly. Zambrano is either going to a team as a rental or a team that can afford to sign him long term. That's not the D-Rays. I could see the Yankees, Angels, and Mets on the short list.
  7. The first move would be to try to get someone to take Howry and Eyre. Next, I'd try to move Zambrano in the best deal possible. My preference would be to send him to the Angels in a deal that might net Brandon Wood. I'd move Jones for whatever I could get for him and bring up Pie to play CF. Finally, I'd sell Marquis while his value is still high.
  8. How quickly the mess can be cleaned depends on how much payroll is allocated by the new ownership.
  9. I just told my wife that the Cubs were winning. She says, "Just wait until the bullpen comes in." :x
  10. I'm traveling and checking in at the business center hotel. Keep me updated, plz!
  11. The fact that Eckstien is on that list causes it to lose all credibility.
  12. Wednesday seats are sec 233, row 12 (last row of the section). Club level with waiter service, $40 per. That's $5 off the box office.
  13. Mark, Congratulations on the outstanding beginning to your season. How satisfying was your performance last Saturday back in front of everyone in Mississippi? Also, you pitched in the SEC. What hitters were the toughest challenge for you during college? And finally, how is preparing to pitch in college different than what you have to do now in professional baseball? Thanks for taking the time. I enjoyed watching you pitch this past week. Good luck on the remainder of the season.
  14. Maybe Dean should name himself and his wife in the suit for not teaching their son how to drink and conduct himself responsibly. It seems that action may have the greatest contribution in his son's untimely death.
  15. Let's see if Holliman can finish a no-no this time around!
  16. Nice hitting and baserunning... don't screw it up.
  17. Bump for those who might want those tickets. I have five for Tuesday and four for Wednesday still. Wife is getting on my case to get rid, so I'm going to Ebay them soon.
  18. Sean, Thanks again for everything! Also, I want to congratulate you on the win the other night. Even without your best stuff, you fought through it. I think that attitude will bode well for you in the future. When I was watching you pitch on Monday night, I noticed your change and curve were in the seventies and your fastball worked 91-94. Occasionaly, you threw a pitch that was in 87-89 range. Was that a variation on your fastball or another pitch I was unable to identify? Also, did you say anything to Fuld after he made that catch for the third out in the fifth? Have a great remainder of the season, and hopefully the next time I see you it will be in Cubs pinstripes.
  19. Donnie, Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. Also, thanks for taking the time to interact with a few Cubs fans in Mississippi this past week. What specific things have you been working on this season? What has been the biggest hurdle you've faced in the jump to AA?
  20. Chris, Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. How great is your role in helping the starting pitcher formulate a game plan each night?
