  1. Today was Addison's third birthday, so many of the Smokies wanted to be photoed with the birthday girl. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/vance_the_cubs_fan/addison%20and%20smokies/VealandAddison.jpg Addison with Donnie Veal http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/vance_the_cubs_fan/addison%20and%20smokies/SamFuldandAddison.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/vance_the_cubs_fan/addison%20and%20smokies/PetrickandAddison.jpg Billy Petrick with Addison BTW, Raisin. PM with your address and a Billy Petrick signed baseball will make its way to you.
  2. The only run given up by the pen was a homerun off of Petrick in his second inning of work. Veal didn't have it today. His stuff looked ok, but he was wild in and out of the zone. He was sitting between 90-92 with his FB. Rasin, Petrick was throwing well. Except for the homer, he looked pretty good. I was very impressed with Dan Smith of the Braves. Some pictures will be forthcoming. My wife is yelling at me for allowing Addison to get so sunburned. Be back in a sec.
  3. I'm going to miss this one as I'll be watching our AA boys play at the same time. I hope that when I finally get to find out the score, I discover the Cubs have swept the Sox. Go Cubs!
  4. I haven't read this whole thread, but let me say I don't like moving Guzman to the pen. He's been an effective starter, and I don't like rolling the dice with the rotation. If the move is to make Marshall the fifth starter, I can tolerate this move. If it is to make Miller the fifth, the it is dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb. I'd rather them bring Holliman up than to make Miller the number five. Miller is done. It's time to stick a fork in him.
  5. What'd you think of Trustmark Park? I think it's a pretty nice facility. I still contend the best minor league park is AutoZone park in Memphis. I've been to Trustmark several times now. I think I went to 10 or so games there last year. It's a nice place. The staff is really friendly. The views from the seats are great. I usually sit in the $8 seats around section 101, but sometimes will move around. I was dissapointed that the cafe in rightfield went to using a smaller menu on gamedays though. I loved the shrimp poboy.
  6. I'm guessing I'll see Holliman again when the Southern League All-Star Game rolls through Mississippi.
  7. He was working in the high eighties, low nineties tonight. Probably more like 89...but his curve was very good. He had quite a few fly ball outs, but none were hit really hard. It appeared that he had a good idea of how to work each hitter. It was a fun game to watch. I'm looking forward to Veal tomorrow and Gallagher on Monday. BTW, Sean is a great guy! Thanks, Vance. Enjoy Veal and Gallagher - let me know if you see Petrick! I've seen Petrick...but he hasn't pitched. LOL Any chance you could get his autograph for me please? O:) Not a problem. I'll get it either tomorrow or Monday if I see him. Tonight I got all 25 guys on the same ball. My nephew did the same.

  10. I'll be in Mississippi to see Holliman tonight. I usually sit down the foul line, so I don't think I get that good of a look at his pitches, but I'll try. I'm hoping to go see Veal and Gallagher on Sunday and Monday as well.
  11. I don't think your rig would fit in the subdivision....much less the driveway. Seriously.... can you call your girlfriend in the Rangers' office and see if perhaps they can accommodate me wherever buses park around there ? I'll check with someone in the Rangers office, but my "girlfriend" has moved on to other employment opportunities. I don't like my new sales rep as much, but I'll give him a call.

  13. I can try. The Rangers park isn't as conducive to my auto magic as others are. My best work on getting autographs is getting them early as players arrive at the stadium. However, the Rangers have an underground parking area that the visitors are often dropped off at. Therefore it will be whatever we can get at BP. I'll be there though, so give me a ring on my cell and we'll see what we can do.
  14. Mick, If you're reading this I'll be at the next three games in Mississippi. I'd love to be able to say hello!
  15. I think they plan on performing an occult ritual to resurrect "Three-Fingers" Brown which is probably just as likely as Samardzija getting called up.
  16. It's awesome, too bad it's being wasted on the Cowboys, though. :P I'm going to have season tix in that new stadium.
  17. Here's some of the quotes from the article. However, in all of the scenarios with Tampa choosing Weiters, the writer assumes that KC would take Price and the Cubs would take Vitters, Jarrod Parker, or Phillippe Aumont. A few more tidbits from that same article... I'd love for Porcello to fall to our sandwich pick, but I know that's nearly an impossibility.
  18. I like insurance runs...of course with our bullpen it takes a 7 run lead for it to be safe.
  19. Here comes the inning where the Sox score four runs.
  20. Can I vote for the new Cowboys stadium?
  21. Bump. I still have tickets. Come and watch Sosa hit 600 vs his former team.
  22. You guys didn't waste any time here.
