    I agree. Tampa has hitters and could use a pitcher that might rise through the system quickly. Also, as much as I like Weiters, I think Price has a much better chance of being something special.

    Yeah, I don't see him pushing Lee, Ramirez or Soriano and I don't know if he can beat out a RF either. He would make a great utility guy + power potential off the bench. Jake is ready to go to AAA - he has had problems with breaking pitches before and AAA will be a good test for him. Jake told me that the reason he was at AA was to learn different positions and gain versatility. He said that they told him he'd still catch about once per week, but that he doesn't know from day to day where they'll pencil him into the line-up. I saw him play left and first and he handled both well. My guess is that when they feel he's picked up the different places in the field, he'll be moved to AAA. His bat is ready.

    I think Fox may have a future as a bench/utility guy. They have him playing everywhere! Congrats, Jake. He can still catch if needed, he plays a good rightfield, and has the arm for third. He probably could handle RF as well. Once he gets comfortable moving around, Fox's bat makes him a valuable guy on the team. He's a power bat who can fill in at corner OF or infield and give you some innings at catcher if needed.

    Well at least you shouldn't have to worry about the sunburn issue. True. If my brother goes with his kids, I'm going as I'll just bum a ride with him. What she's really griping about is the amount of money I'm spending in gas to get there. Each trip is costing me around $30 in gas alone.

    The stuff is still there. He just has some adjustments to make. I think he'll make them.

    Do you think that Fox is currently major-league ready at any position in the field though? I would love to have his bat in the lineup, but if Fox can only play 1B/LF then he's pretty well screwed for quite a while unless Soriano moves to RF. He could play LF there right now. I know that much. There's obviously no room for Fox as a starter right now, but I think he might could be a bat on the bench for us. He could handle any of those positions in a pinch and having him would essientially give us three catchers. I will say this, when Fox hits the ball on the screws, he hits it hard. Even most of his outs were hard hit balls and he had some good hits against two pretty good pitchers in the games I saw.

    Maybe Lou gave the Gooz an ice cream sandwich to make him feel better about being demoted? Gooz said he LIKED being back in the pen. Maybe Lou really did give him an ice cream! Maybe Lou said in an angry parent voice, "You're going to the bullpen and you're gonna like it!" and Guzman was too scared not to.

    I'm glad it's a West Coast game. My daughter's school has a program on Tuesday night, so I'll still make it home in time for the game.

    I'm looking forward to watching Sean pitch tomorrow night. Of the pitchers I have seen on both teams, Holliman was the most impressive, followed by Dan Smith and Matt Harrison of the Braves. I'll see Gallagher go tomorrow, but I missed JoJo Reyes of the Braves on Friday, and I hear he's pretty good. JC Holt of the Braves is a Ryan Theriot clone. Oh...and Jake Fox can hit. I think his bat maybe major league ready right now.
