  1. Just checking in...this game got a lot better in a hurry.
  2. Texas judge granted Zeke a TRO, so he will likely play the entire season.
  3. what'd i miss? from what i heard, he'll play week 1 but the suspension will still happen starting week 2 That's not for certain. The judge in Texas will rule on the TRO on Friday. If the judge issues the TRO, then Zeke will play until the court rules on his case which could take all season. Whether or not he wins the TRO on Friday is anybody's guess, and I've seen a lot of different opinions on it. So, what we know now is that he will play Sunday night and we should know by end of the day Friday on whether he will play past that. If he loses the TRO, he'll sit weeks 2-7, and if the judge grants, chances are the suspension is on hold until next season.
  4. What's going to be interesting with the Zeke situation is if it proceeds to trial, there is much speculation that Goodell will be deposed and required to testify. That could be interesting.
  5. I will take Dallas.
  6. Chip Kelly would be wise to return to college football. I'm not sure his scheme can be successful in the long run in the pros.
  7. And my point is that you can get a Dalton, Ryan, Cousins, or Prescott in the second on latter half of the first if not later. Take an elite player in the top four and then trade back up into the bottom of the first or take a QB in the second unless QB really is at the top of the board at four.
  8. If you don't mind, let me give you my perspective from a non-Bears fan. If the Bears rate a QB in the draft as a difference maker, future franchise QB, then they should trust their scouts and take him. However, if they do not feel there is one of those, I would not trade back to get one in the middle of the first. They should take the best player on their board, improve the talent of the team and get the best QB they can later- even if that means they trade back up into the back half of the first round. Reaching for a QB or giving up the chance to take an elite player by trading back isn't going to help the franchise.
  9. It's not that bad if you're willing to take anyone connected with steroids off the list. I'm not, though. So I consider his ballot to be horrendous. Any submission that doesn't include Bonds should be thrown out. And even excluding steroids...Mike Mussina? Seriously?
  10. [tweet] [/tweet]Yeah this has to be one of the worst ballots cast.
  11. I've also been wondering how many seats he had on his account. Was it 2? 4? 6? More than 6? While maybe he only had 2-4 seats, but if he had more than that it might have also been why they deemed him a scalper.
  12. I don't think scalpers are evil. I have done it on a small scale and since I'm a season ticket holder for an NFL team, when I can't go to a game, I have made a profit too...though this year I will go to 5 of the 8 reg season home games (Would have been all 8 if they hadn't flexed one to Sund night, my dad hadn't passed two days before anohter, and I hadn't come to Chicago for playoffs in the weeked of the other), last season which was dismal, 6 of the 8....and the fewest I have attended was 4 of 8....and never fail to used the playoffs. Though none of that matters...I'm just rambling because I'm bored. What is important is while I don't care that he scalps or that brokers own seats, I also don't care if the Cubs are attempting to reign in that behavior. Neither behavior is repulsive to me. I can understand why the op would be upset he lost his tickets, but the Cubs were perfectly in their rights legally and morally to make such a conclusion.
  13. hahahahahaha well, yes. That's not the point. The point is it's a joke for the Cubs to cry foul on one season's worth of scalping and site that as the main reason when the Cubs have done the same thing themselves. That's exactly the kind of thing the word hypocritical was created for. The Cubs aren't calling foul. They are just choosing to revoke season tickets from people they deem to be brokers. There is nothing in the season ticket agreement that guarantees you the right in subsequent seasons. The agreements cover the Cubs. It is their product and they can do as they choose. Sure they use data provided by stubhub. I'm sure the NFL does the same with NFL ticket exchange. When I resale my NFL tickets, I still use ticket exchange because it's legal...then again my seat license isn't the same as the Cubs agreement and does not prohibit me from profitting as much as I'd like.
  14. If you don't mind me asking, where were your seats?
  15. Teams revoking tickets is nothing new. I don't have Cubs season tickets because I live in Louisiana and we my number was called, it didn't make financial sense for me to get them. I wish it had, because it would have been great. I do own Dallas Cowboys tickets. My account is safe there because I paid a PSL which lasts for 30 years. Because of that, I can sell my tickets..do whatever really with them... However when I signed up for them, I debated getting seats in an area that did not require a PSL. My rep told me at the time that those seats could be revoked at any time that the Cowboys needed them- even if they needed seats for a sponsor or whatever. I had a friend who had seats in that area who lost them when At&T bought the naming rights because they needed a block of seats to give out to the sponsor.
  16. Eli doing Eli today
  17. but only small pillow gifts.
  18. If the principal had any sense they'd cancel school today. Since I'm in Louisiana, I don't think she or any other school could justify cancelling school today. But we did watch a lot of baseball in my classes today.
  19. As much as I hate Joe Buck, his call "This is gonna be a tough play, Bryant...The Cubs Win the World Series" will be played over and over and over!
  20. I am up and have Go Cubs Go on repeat in the classroom... hope I don't get fired, but all tests have been cancelled....it's a holiday in my room. The year of Jubilee is here!
  21. After tonight, every Cub could use Zobrist's wife's music as walk up and I wouldn't care....don't care.
  22. It may have already been posted, but does someone have a pic of the updated AC sign?
  23. I'm trying to decide if it will get me fired if I make my students watch highlights from the series tomorrow.
