  1. Not sure how good Gronk may be. It's a risk/reward move. If he's near the old Gronk, he could be awesome, especially with Brady at QB. But he's 30 with a history of injuries who has been out of football a year and doesn't have the luxury of being able to have access to an NFL training facility for the forseeable future. Sure, he could be really good or he could be a bust and the Pats got a 4th round pick for someone else to take a chance with him when he wouldn't have come back for the Pats and wouldn't have played for anyone else. So, not a bad deal for the Pats considering it all.
  2. I find most of my least favorites are more from my adult years. In my childhood innocence, I liked them all. My least favorites would probably be: Neifi Perez Dusty Baker (Can I count him?) Jeff Samardzija Steve Stone
  3. I see no matter how long I've been away, some things are the same.
  4. Yes, nothing bad at my house. However, a girl who plays softball with my daughter lost their entire home last weekend. Tornado dropped a tree on it. They were all able to get out ok, but it was a total loss. But, yeah staying safe as I can during these crazy times. Thanks for asking!
  5. With everything shut down and not much else to talk about, I ended up back here. It's been awhile. So, a light topic- who are your favorite Cubs from your life time. If you want to list five- fine. Ten- go ahead. Any criteria you wanna use- knock yourself out. This doesn't say best Cubs- though that can be your criteria, just favorite. Here's mine: 1. Ryne Sandberg. Growing up he was my favorite, for a long time. I remember in my late teens when I at one time owned every card of his ever printed. 2. Sammy Sosa. I know he doesn't always get the love from the fan base, but in his best years, he was a joy for me to watch. 3. Greg Maddux- I liked him before he left, and honestly rooted for him during his Braves years. I was happy when he rejoined the team in his twilight years. 4. Kris Bryant- He's my favorite of the current group. I will admit, as much as I loved watching the Cubs win it all, there's fewer of this group in my favorites because I have less time to watch games as in the past. 5. Ryan Theriot- My LSU connection made me really like Theriot when he was a Cub. 6. Andre Dawson- Loved the Hawk and always will. 7. Mark Grace- Grace was another player that I saw play a lot and always liked. 8. Rick Sutcliffe 9. Kerry Wood 10. Aramis Ramirez
  6. So, this is like my first game thread appearance in over a year... what did I miss?
  7. If years and money were the same, would you prefer Darvish or a return of Jake?
  8. Is there a woman's sport worth watching, though (coming someone who has actually placed wagers in Vegas on WNBA games)? Tennis can be entertaining, I suppose. Then again, I don't even watch men's college sports (and only 3 pro ones) so I'm a bit of an elitist here. That said, this take on Wilson is just criminally dumb. I enjoy watching women's softball. The NCAA games between top schools can be really exciting. The women's proleague hasn't gotten much attention, but it can be really fun to watch.
  9. holy hell....one more out. I still have no faith....
  10. When we were up 3, I was brimming with confidence. Now, I have no faith that we can get through the ninth without giving up at least one run.
  11. I think he was out...but doubt it is overturned.
  12. I can't wait to see the blame shifting, excuses, and stories about fishing Dusty is going to have to do at the post game press conference.
