  1. line-up protection is a baseball myth, much like the clutch hitter
  2. After Patterson's struggles, I could see Murton up by Sunday.
  3. That almost sucked, but it worked out ok with another run scoring.
  4. I'll take the run off an infield hit! Let's go Cubs!
  5. We need to get these runs home and drive Snell out of the game.
  6. I'm sure all nine of their fans would get pissed off.
  7. They are still guaranteeing him a lot of money that they don't have to pay him. If he turns into nothing, that's a lot of money paid to a guy who's on the bench or sent back to the minors or released. Longoria is truly leaving money on the table, potentially lots and lots of it if he plays to his ceiling, but it would be three years or more before he sees it. It's possible he'd rather have a fraction of it now.
  8. Damn! We really needed Lee to do better than that.
  9. I disagree. He took security and up front money opposed to waiting and seeing what he could get later. Both parties are taking a risk. Evan could make a lot more money; the Rays could end up paying a lot of money to a prospect that doesn't pan out in the major leagues.
  10. That's what it would be like if we played Patterson at SS.
  11. Rich settled down nicely after the lead-off walk.
  12. While they are risky, it does provide some cost certainty for clubs who need to know how much they will spend in the future.
  13. Come on, UK is right. We need some more input and then let's make the pick.
  14. Just like in football, they give you stat tracker for free at first but then it's 9.99 if you want it live like it had been. If not, you have to wait until the next day. what a joke I don't think it's a bad deal. If you're in more than one Yahoo league $9.99 covers them all. I usually buy stat tracker during football season, but I usually don't for baseball. And I don't think it's a bad deal either. Yahoo is good enough to have a free league. This is a service they figure they can make some money from. If you want up to the minute stats, buy it. 10 bucks isn't a lot of money. If it is, just wait. They usually have the stats updated by 6am anyway.
  15. I'd take either Johnson or Roy if we could get them for one of the first rounders we have, but I just don't see it happening. Either way, I figure the Cowboys will go after RW when he hits FA next offseason unless he's franchised.
  16. I think it's time we start a discussion on the Ravens' pick. I'm thinking Limas Sweed might be a good pick for them here.
