  1. Thanks for the tip. I've heard the same thing.
  2. Here's more.
  3. I had to confer in the war room. With the 22nd pick of the draft, the Cowboys select WR Devin Thomas from Michigan State. The Cowboys are in need of a reciever and playmaker as TO is getting up there in age, Terry Glenn is likely done, and Patrick Crayton is more of a third receiver. Thomas adds the size and speed needed to be an elite receiver in the NFL.
  4. We're not paying a large amount. We've just gotten money back every year over the last four. Hopefully, we'll be back near even next year.
  5. For the first time in five years, we owe the government money. I'm not pleased. you've got kids and a house. if you owe money, you're not doing something right Seriously...how can you owe in that situation. And, I assume you and your wife have the same positions as before so what changed? My wife's hospital sold to another group. The hospital was formerly community owned and they allowed vacation to accrue from year to year if one did not take it. When it sold, the employees were allowed to take a payout of unused vacation hours because the new company would not allow vacation hours to carry over if they were unused from year to year. As a result, we got a very large check before the take-over became final. I don't think we had enough money taken out of that.
  6. would have...not would of. Link. And no, we would not have had a championship if he were still here. (subjunctive mood, please.)
  7. I'd always trade for the better player.
  8. I'm just hoping the return to Chicago creates at least one really good fishing analogy.
  9. I blame him more for 2005 and 2006.
  10. For the first time in five years, we owe the government money. I'm not pleased.
  11. Just bumping this again, but who else on Huntsville is worth checking out. I'm aware of LaPorta, but who else should I look for?
  12. Take that stupid crap somewhere else! Go. Reds. Death to the Reds and all who root for them. you just wished death on kent mercker. looks like you will be joining me in hell. Not true; Kent has already resurrected from the dead, so therefore cannot die.
  13. yeah...silly me...this is the Chicago Soriano's after all. He is a liability to the team at this point. Even at his best last year, he did not impress. He rarely gets on base, which is the main job of the leadoff hitter. He doesn't work the count either which is another key part of being a leadoff hitter. Beyond that, we've heard all of these excuses about him being a better hitter at the top then in the middle where there is more pressure which is a very lame excuse. He is not hitting at the top either. Also, even when he does get on...he can no longer run. He needs to be in the middle to at least drive in runs when this so called hot streak comes along. Fukodome should be leading off on this team. He is a good hitter, works the count & has the right mindset for a leadoff hitter at the plate. He is not a basestealer but neither is Soriano...in part because he never gets on. I don't know. His three homer game vs the Braves was very impressive.
  14. I think he'll strike out twice a game and refuse at least a half a dozen autograph requests. And the whole time it will be clear by the look on his face that he just doesn't care.
  15. Take that stupid crap somewhere else! Go. Reds. Death to the Reds and all who root for them.
  16. We get a sweep, and then we get swept. Damn this team frustrates the hell out of me.

  20. Barring injury, I'd venture to guess there's a good chance Samardzija will be a serviceable major leaguer. I hope both you and Tim are right, and his last start at AA is certainly encouraging. I still don't think he misses enough bats.
  21. Yeah, I know Shafer was the one. Maybe by mid-summer, he'll be back at Mississippi. I've seen Diory and Pope quite a bit as they were up with Mississippi a lot last year. I really like Diory. He's very personable. Pope struggled a lot last year with the bat. I think he may have partied too much with his old friends because he's from the Jackson area.
