Yes. The ballot doesn't change. For example, Frank Thomas is the DH candidate for the Blue Jays, Ben Broussard is the Rangers 1b candidate, Edmonds is there for SD, and Jacque Jones is there for the Tigers. -

At the time we signed Soriano, I liked him over Lee because first I felt he could play CF and if not CF, then he would play RF. Secondly, I felt his speed would give him an advantage over Lee. However, had I known at the time we were just getting a LF, I would have taken Lee. Lee is better with the bat, and while he's slow in the field, he's no worse than Soriano, and he's cheaper.

Scully just said it will be around 1 AM before the Dodgers arrive in Chicago. Maybe they will be a little tired for the game tomorrow.

Since joining the Cubs, Jimmy has an OPS+ of -20. Not, 20, minus-twenty. I'm not sure I've seen an OPS+ that bad. I think Ryan Harvey might have a better OPS+. We sent Pie down for this? It's time to cut bait.

Yes, he hit the 2-run homer, but he also cost us the game, so that cancels out, don't you think? 2 runs > 1 run Not buying this argument in the least. I'm with ya here. The 2 >1 fallacy assumes we expect players to make the plays they should and do nothing with the bat. That's not true at all. We want them to make the plays in the field and provide something with the bat. Is Soriano's bat good enough to compensate for some miscues? yes. But for the status he's been given, I expect either more with the glove or more with the bat, or a little of both.

So, he breaks even today. For 18 million, I'd hope for better.
