  1. Buck GIDP to retire the side. 2-0 Royals, mid 5.
  2. Teahan with a single that scores Grudzielanek who scores just ahead of the throw by Ankiel. 2-0 Royals.
  3. Grudzielanek goes double shopping at the GAP scoring Guillen. 1-0 Royals!
  4. Guillen with a one-out single in the 4th.
  5. Shumaker just caught a ball hit by Gordon at the fence. :x
  6. Royals get one hit in the third, but still no runs. Middle of 3, no score in St. Louis.
  7. Dunn's response rocks. Link
  8. So it did appear that he still had arms? Refreshing that he doesn't look like this guy. http://www.intriguing.com/mp/_pictures/grail/large/HolyGrail018.jpg Is that the second time this week you plugged that pic? nope. it was my first.
  9. Greinke sits the Cards down in order. 0-0 after 2.
  10. Nice to see those three start hitting. I'm not sure I saw either get a hit the whole time in Mississippi.
  11. Ludwig makes a shoestring catch on a liner from Buck and the Royals go down in the second.
  12. Teahan gets a two out triple in the top of 2nd.
  13. I'm not minimizing the impact Zambrano has on this team, but if he's out for a short time I think the Cubs can stay afloat. We won't play as well as we have, but Zambrano is only pitching once every five days. The team has only lost five games in June, and 2 of those were in games started by Zambrano. To think we're done if he's out is not true. An extended injury to Zambrano does mean we need to look for a starter, but if that starter comes at the trading deadline, so be it.

  15. Theriot is the type of player that is going to wear down without rest. Now would be a good time to get him some, but unfortunately Cedeno is trending just as bad now.
  16. Brad Thompson does away with the Royals on 8 pitches. :x
  17. McLaren was Lou's first choice as bench coach. He chose to stay in Seattle instead.
  18. Too bad for McLaren. He was Lou's first choice as bench coach, but he chose to stay in Seattle.
  19. They need a bat, that's for certain. But it's easier to buy a bat than pitching. If the Cubs give them enough pitching, they may be able to find their bat in the winter.
  20. The playoffs will be won by whoever gets hot at the right time. Trying to build a team to win for the playoffs is nearly an impossible strategy. Build the best team for 162 and then hope to play your best in the short series come October.
  21. This is what good teams do. They play 500 against good teams and beat up on everyone else. Also, what would the Pirates record be if the Cubs hadn't hammered them almost everytime they play?
  22. We haven't lost three games in a row all year. No reason to start now. Go Cubs!
